She did not doubt that Sebastian could sense that something was off with her, there was an awareness when they were around each other that neither could deny. It often worked in their favor with very enjoyable results, but she doubted it stopped there. Still if he noticed anything he kept it to himself which was just one more reason she appreciated his presence. He was the distraction from all the things she wished to forget and never drudged them up, at least not knowingly. Sometime in the not too distant future she should probably get everything off her proverbial chest, but that was not her inclination at the moment. He seemed just as eager as she to steer the conversation to more enjoyable topics, the pleasure she felt at causing that smile to dance across his features warmed her chest and helped drive away the cold. It spread as his cool fingers traced with feather-lightness across her cheek, a simple gesture yet one that spoke volumes as she leaned into him. It was comforting that no matter how much things seemed to change whatever it was that existed betwixt them was a constant fire that never seemed to dwindle.
A fact which was only punctuated further by the dark words she purred in regard to her intentions while with him being as crystal as his eyes. The huskiness of his tenor reply sent a shiver up her spine that had nothing to do with the cool night air and her pink lips turned upwards in reply. She had no doubt he had vivid memories of the last evening they had spent together, chance playing into her favor then as well. Of course she might argue that she got the better end of that bargain, on many fronts, but she was sure he had enjoyed it nearly as much as she. And again tonight he offered her that escape of whatever means she wished, the fact that he gave her options speaking volumes Her choice to leave seemed to give him no pause as he allowed her to again choose where they went. The possibilities danced before her eyes, reflecting the tealights strung overhead.
There was no denying that having him escort her back to her apartment again wasn't tantalizing, images of the last time they had shared that space already playing in her mind, but she had not yet been able to shake the last strands of her flight from her conscious yet just. She did not want that tainting any of their time together. Instead she looked up at him from under thick lashes,
