Amelia too had seen all the humans with bite marks. It pained Amelia to know that they were not treated more humanely. Humans were their life force and they should be treated as such. They should be paid fairly and should not be paraded and passed around like animals. But alas, Amelia was not here for human welfare rights. She was just here to observe. What it told her was that Amelia seemed to respect humans more than most. Perhaps that was why Amelia was not a maker herself. While she enjoyed her lifestyle, she wouldn't force it on anyway. Unfortunately for her, she wasn't given that option. Her maker was a kind man and he had tried to save her from a terrible death. But Amelia hadn't wanted to be saved. But that was another story for another day.
He speaks of the ill nature of others and it draws her attention back to him. Yes, unfortunately there were so many who were rude and dishonest. She missed having more pleasant conversations like this. It seemed to be a rarity nowadays. "Aye, I remember a time when whole villages would help one another without ever dreaming of causing each other harm." But those days were long gone and Amelia had to mold herself to the world now. Although she tried to conform, there were some behaviors she would never go back to doing: like killing. But that too was another story for another day.
He speaks of age and she nods with a smile. Being as old as she was certainly did have it's perks. She was able to live through history, meeting people that others only had the chance to read of in history books. It was an experience that she could never give up. It would always be something that she would hold very near and dear to her heart. How could she let such memories go? It would be foolish.
When he says that if he hadn't wandered into this joint, he wouldn't have met her, it made her look downwards as a rosey color crept over her cheeks. How could she not blush? He was an attractive man giving her some very sweet and charming compliments. She needed to behave herself. He didn't seem like the kind too interested in dating her. While he acted almost on edge, he was trying and Amelia found it rather cute. But she said nothing to him, just smiled.
Troy asks about the gentleman and Amelia nods slightly. "He's human, the girl he's after is vampire. Seems he's one who enjoys sleeping with a fanged woman." While some seemed to enjoy the thrill of having sex with vampires, Amelia never understood the joys of sleeping with humans. Sure, it was a good time, but it wasn't anything special. And because Amelia knew that there would always be people eager to get beneath her skirts, she was always on edge when it came to getting close to men. While she was no virgin, she was cautious. She had to be careful these days. There were so many bad people, one could never be too cautious.
But before they could finish their lovely conversation, there's a gunshot as the door to the bar swings open. Amelia instinctively crouches lower to the table. She knows these types of fellows. They were up to no good. They were here to kill and immediately, Amelia was looking for the nearest exit. She had to get out of here. While she wanted to stay a little longer with Troy, she had to think about survival. She needed out or she may not see the next moon.
However, there's a diversion and Amelia knows it's time to run. There's a sea of vampires heading towards the unwelcomed visitors. They were going to get themselves killed. But better them than her. She starts to scoot towards the edge of the booth before movement across from her catches her eye. Troy has exited the booth and has his hand extended towards her for her to take. He asks for her to trust him. Every nerve in her body tells her to run, that she doesn't trust the man with a stake in his back pocket. But what other choice does she have? She's new in town. She doesn't know a safe place to go. So hesitantly, she takes his hand and eases out of the booth. "I trust you." There's a sense of hesitation and cautiousness in her words, but she has no other choice. She had to put her life in this man's hands. Hopefully she doesn't regret that decision later.
