Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Kato Buhari
Kato had seen Edie dissolve into a panic attack once before. Something about their training and triggered it and for the most part hadn't exactly known why besides her frantic claims about being unable to hurt him. This seemed to be quickly leading down the same path though much more escalated. Before in the clearing he had been able to simply hold her and recite an old children's story from his homeland to concentrate her back on the present and break her of the panic attack. This however didn't seem like the same situation that that would work. He relented and would lay with her to soothe her wracking sobs. In some way it was good for her, being scared into not doing it again, but there needed to be elaboration on why...not just to avoid his anger.
He could only explain it and hope she would understand. This was not just her life but his too. His heart rested in her life and her being only his. Kato hated that he had hurt her; the bruises that would be on her arms by morning would haunt him for days until they healed. Because of that his movement and touch was more gentle than usual as he wiped away her tears and pulled her to him. Of course a kiss wouldn't heal everything that had just happened over tonight or her sudden trip to Vegas, but it could show her that he still cared about her. His lips coaxed hers, attempting to get her to relax even just a bit as he pulled her closer, hooking his hand behind her knee in order to pull her leg over his hip. They didn't separate until the need for air dictated it. Her hoarse words caused a sigh to escape the man. "I don't hate you Edie; I don't think I could ever hate you." He let his head fall back against the pillow to look up at the ceiling though his hand remained holding her leg draped over him. "I wish I knew how to help you." His stormy blue eyes returned to look back at her emerald, as clear and bright as the gem itself.
"I can see there is more behind your tears, more that you have been through and don't tell me. I wish I could help take that darkness." Slowly Kato ran his hand from behind her knee to up and down Edie's out thigh in comfort. "You know you don't have to prove anything- being tough or fearless. You don't have to run headlong into situations." He sighed once more, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I'm sorry for what I did, for how I spoke to you. It doesn't change my love for you. You burn so brightly that sometimes I fear how closely you walk to the sun." Kato brought his free hand which had been wrapped around Edie lifted behind her to gently stroke her hair that fell against her back. "We should go away for a weekend, even if it's just to the next town over, a real relaxing little vacation with room service and everything." Perhaps if they were away from the house for a bit, away from her duties as a Beta where she could relax then he could get her to talk to him about whatever it was that kept sending her into these attacks.
