Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The Fae Queen had resolved to letting herself sleep in her own bed despite the anxieties that plagued her every breath. It was unfair of her to occupy Aiden's bed as often as she was now even if he swore he didn't mind. He had work to do. A business to run, a pack to oversee. She may have been his girlfriend, but she refused to let her fear get in the way of his life. Especially after everything that he had been through as of late. And just as she refused to bother Aiden with her troubles, she refused to hold back anything in Dorian's life simply because she was afraid of the dark. So tonight, when he'd lingered within her doorway to ask for the millionth time if she was okay, she'd continued to insist that he get out of the house and entertain himself with Sebastian once more. Luckily, he'd relented eventually.

The queen was thankful for the peace as she'd headed up to her bedroom - only after checking to make sure all the doors were locked first, of course. Without Dorian asking a million questions about how Netflix worked, she would be able to actually enjoy Pride & Prejudice again. Yes, that was the perfect thing to do tonight. It took her only minutes to get her pajamas on and crawl into her bed. She bent down only briefly to set Dorian's sword against the nightstand before she found herself curled up around her stuffed animal - a black panther for Aiden, of course - and let her eyes train on the television. How she loved this movie. Pride and Prejudice had always been her favorite book, and watching the film or reading the novel could transport her back to the days that she'd spent as a teenager pouring over those pages in Central Park. How she'd loved them. Some things, it seemed, even immortality could not take.

Her thoughts were broken by the rupture of her window opening and the body that poured from it. The girl had barely the chance to sit up - her hands grasping at air when she felt for the sword - before the body was on top of her with a steel blade poised at her throat. The girl's eyes travelled to the blade and the iron she could feel radiating off of it before, finally, her gaze fell to the woman atop her. "V... Vhalla?" The girl's voice was a mixture of confusion and terror at the fact that her friend was on top of her holding a knife. "What the hell are you doing?" There was no logical reason for any of this - at least not one that Sam could reasonably fathom.

The Fae Queen only had seconds to get her question out before the emotions of the woman hit her and waves of anger seemed to pour into the woman. No, no. Samantha would not feel that anger, nor could she understand what she had done to inflict that emotion towards her. "I'm s-sorry," The girl stuttered out. She made no efforts to move - she hardly wanted to be cut by that blade, nor did she want to be burned. Her eyes trailed the length of that blade, her mind flashing to the silver one that had taken the life from her in the first place. Her scar practically throbbed.

She had told that story to Vhalla with confidence that she would not betray her, and yet here Vhalla was to exploit the fears that she had told her. Samantha couldn't help the choked noise that escaped her as the tears formed within her eyes. She shook her head to the girl's question. "N-no... why would I... know that..." She stuttered out as her unsteady breathing turned to actual tears. Why would her friend do this to her? Why was she angry with her? She hadn't done anything... Unless the date had gone bad, and that hardly seemed something to kill her over.

She'd thought she had it under control, and yet it seemed that that power of hers had a mind of its own. At the first hiccup of a sob, that burst of bubbles she'd seen once before - when Tobi had made her cry - appeared around them. The girl let out a pathetic noise at their appearance, though she made no effort to stop them - nor her overwhelming emotions or tears. Perhaps she should fight back, but all the terrified Faerie Queen could do was produce more tears and subsequently, more bubbles.
