Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

every king had a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told

There was a distinct pleasure, one wholly unsurmountable, he was sure, in so being drawn further into his lover's arms. Dorian cared little for the decided lack of grace with which he near tumbled into the vampires frame in sheer relief at the man's presence. How foolish he had been to believe he could manage alone when he barely understood the concepts of modernity nearly so well as act with appropriateness in any sort of emergency such as that which had begat the washing machine. Those softly uttered lyrics stirred the warmest of grins to his features, momentarily chasing away those notes of dejection before the enormity off his failures so seemed to press upon him once more. How he disliked having to admit such mistakes! It was a foolish emotion, he was sure, especially when it was so he was rather assured Sebastian would not judge him for such things in the least and yet he had been so determined to believe he did not need Samantha. After all, the woman had gone on an left him. A part of the Monarch perhaps resenting the woman, even if he dared not admit to such petty emotions aloud. She had been his friend, his companion, the very first being within this city whom had held heart enough to prevent him dying upon his very first evening here. How was it so she might do all those things only to merely leave him still? Then again, had he not already begun to leave her? Dorian spending so little time within this apartment anymore that he had, towards the end, rarely seen Samantha at all.

Such thoughts were cast aside once more as he made some effort to explain to his lover just what had occurred. His head nodded softly in response to that single uttered word, Dorian confirming that the house was indeed broken to his understanding of such as the silver of his gaze rose upward to meet the striking blue of his companions own. That warmth and life to his lover's figure so becoming apparent to him then, Sebastian so having succeeded in finding his meal tonight, it would seem. Dorian wholly oblivious to that turn of thoughts within his companions mind until that ever curious 'oh' so fell from his lips. How subtle such a thing was and yet how much it might convey to the Fae whom knew his lover so well as to find even the smallest notes of displeasure within the man's words. Dorian affording him a curious look in that moment before that view of the apartment behind him seemed to stir that same sound from the man again. Sebastian at last afforded some view of Dorian's attempts to survive these past few days. Dorian shifted but slightly away from the man then, allowing Sebastian to wander into that apartment and fully inspect what remained of it. The Fae King resting against the nearest wall, his arms folding across his chest before attempting to offer some furthered explanation to that makeshift bed the vampires gaze had settled on. That almost uncertain query as to whether there was only one bug so readily saw that scowl settle upon his features once more, Dorian eyeing his lover now with a look almost akin to disbelief.

"Need there be more than one? You have not found another have you?!"

The sheer idea that the bug had escaped his room else somehow summoned reinforcements saw the Monarch glance hastily at the ground, Dorian pressing further against that wall as one bare foot lifted slightly as if it was at risk of being crawled upon- the man's features having grown distinctly pale at even the mere mention of that insect. In all that the man had survived through in his time, in all he had seen, there was little that distressed him nearly so much as bugs. His heart alone so beginning to quicken in its rhythm at the idea of them alone. That soft sigh that befell his boyfriends lips at last managed to draw his attention away from the floor, those teasing words stirring a simper to his own as the Fae King allowed his own eyes to roll in that playful fashion. The notion that Sebastian so believed the water to be the most important, when Dorian was assured it was the loose bug, was met with a curious glance. The Fae so meeting his companions gaze quizzically now as Sebastian paused mid-sentence as if to reconsider his words, Dorian frowning softly in some wonderment as to what he had been about to say before he declared this combination of water and electricity to be 'very bad'. How two such entities might react was lost upon the man entirely, Dorian merely inclined to agree before that touch of fingers against his chin saw his own head lift upwards and his thoughts shift from that despair at his own failings.

That warm brush of lips against his own so managed to steal his attention entirely. Even after all this time! The simplest of kisses still tugging at the desire within him. Sebastian's assurance, as he leaned away, that the house could be fixed so managed to incline that tug of emotion within him. Dorian feeling relieved that he had perhaps not destroyed the home beyond repair and too- that flutter of love for that single being so willing to make it right as he often did. That query as to the utility room was ignored but briefly, Sebastian's name uttered upon his lips in an effort to draw the vampire's attention back towards him. A single step forward so closed that distance between them once more, his lips finding his lovers own again, this time with far more fervour then that first chaste brush of affection he had been afforded. He had seen his lover but barely two days ago and yet it was surely two days to long. Dorian relishing that sweet taste of him now before so at last pulling away from that more passionate embrace with a sigh, his arms draped still about the man's neck in an almost playful fashion.

"I....suppose.....we ought to fix this before I become distracted and distract you in turn. Come, I shall show you this room you desire to see."

A soft chuckle rose gently from within his throat, the Monarch stepping away from his lover then to lead him towards that utility space that he knew existed if only because Samantha had made mention of it several times. Dorian lifted one hand to gesture towards it now, although what Sebastian intended to do within it he hardly knew. Dorian paused at the door to merely watch with a ready curiosity. For all his disdain within himself at his failures, a part of the man remained ever curious still of those things he did not know. This most assuredly one of them. Yet still, even this momentary distraction hardly failed to steal the entirety of his thoughts, Dorian so unable to find contentment in that which stirred within his mind as the silver of his gaze lingered upon his lover still and he leaned within that doorway.

"Bastian, I find I need say something and it is not a truly gracious thing to say I fear but, do you know, I am unhappy in some sense, that Samantha left as she did? She was my friend and there is much I surely owe to her still and yet- a part of me is not at all displeased she is gone either."

These were surely less then gracious thoughts, Dorian wholly bemoaning himself for such things and yet while he could not deny how much he would surely miss that woman whom he had once relied on so very much and who's wholly kind temperament had so readily appealed to him. There was something wholly....freeing about her leaving. Dorian so continuing softly then.

"It is a shameful thing to say, I know and yet her leaving so allows me to spend more time with you. I might spend all the more days in your bed now and I cannot find displeasure in that in any sense."

That grin tugged but softly at his lips once more. Dorian so unable to deny the pleasure he took from merely this idea alone. After all, he came home to this apartment for Samantha alone, this home holding truly little for him outside of her. Dorian, for now at least, perhaps unwilling to admit how very much he had come to loath being within this home alone. He hated the silence, the emptiness and the echo off his feet upon the floor. He had spent near five hundred years in the forced company of others, surely he should relish that time to himself and yet he had simply come to disdain that loneliness even if he hardly admitted the full truth of it to his lover now. The thought that he might spend all the more time within Sebastian's company a far more pleasing thought to consider.

"Oh, this so reminds me, I have your mail in my bedroom."

That this was perhaps a wholly curious sentence remained to be seen, Dorian frowning slightly at the thought of it. The vast majority of that mail having arrived earlier in the week, his PA having spent the entirety of the day sorting through what was Dorian's, Sebastian's and both of theirs combined before placing it in that room that was no longer accessible. That curious look on his lovers features stirring that chuckle from within him once more.

"You have fan mail, love. The palace is being inundated with it. Some of it is addressed to both of us but some is entirely your own."
