Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
She felt bad about how they left things when she stormed out of the house after arguing with him about whether he was a panther or not. Maybe he would finally come to his senses some day but she knew now that she didn't want to lose their friendship just because he was as stubborn as she was. She wouldn't push it on him anymore. At least that's what she told herself as she walked slowly down the sidewalk toward Henry's apartment. She knew the route by heart, just from memories of exploring when he first brought her there. She never did get to meet his boyfriend but maybe he was too ashamed of her before. Maybe she was too weird or something and he didn't want his boyfriend to take it out on him. She didn't care about that. She just wanted to make sure they were still okay because he had saved her that night when he found her and it meant something. Maybe she had already spent too much time in a human's body and the emotions were playing with her head or something but being around other humans was starting to make her rethink the relationships she had made. Henry was important to her and he had done a lot for her and she had thanked him by trying to force her ideals on him and overall being a bitch. She scowled and played with her hair, a new habit she'd picked up. She liked to grab a tendril of hair now and wrap it constantly around her finger. She did this a lot without even thinking about it. She had been making herself shift a lot since that first lesson with Frost. It was hard the first time but she was determined to get good at it so every chance she got, she would sneak into an alley or something and take her clothes off and shift. She figured out after the first time that if you shift while wearing clothes, you can rip them up and since both Frost and Miyako had done her favors and bought her new clothes, she didn't want to rip them to shreds. She was pulling at the hem of the first she was wearing now, a t-shirt Miyako had picked out and some jeans that felt rather tight, especially around her ass. It made a couple people walking by give her certain looks, mostly the men, but she simply curled a lip at them and kept walking. She could smell the pheramones coming off of them and frankly, it was annoying. She had been staying with Frost while trying to re-aquaint herself with this whole pack thing. She hadn't seen Caesar or the others since she shifted the first time and she was almost thankful for that. Maybe they figured out she wasn't coming back and they left town or something. She almost hoped they would because it would tug at her heartstrings to see any of her former pack mates now and know that they would smell her but wouldn't recognize her in this form. It would be too confusing and she couldn't begin to explain it to them. She almost missed her companionship with Caesar. At least he kept her warm at night. Now she was shivering all the time and all the blankets in the world didn't seem to keep her warm. She pulled the leather jacket Miyako had bought her a little tighter around her as she walked up to his apartment building and took a deep breath before ringing the door bell. Impatient, she waited only a few seconds before she decided to knock on the door a couple times too. She had picked up some gestures from watching other humans. Apparently it was rude to just walk in so she'd started knocking. Now to see if he'd answer and forgive her. |
