Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Amelia looked up at Troy with a sense of curiosity and fear. She wasn't sure how he felt about all this news. Hell, she didn't even know how SHE felt about all this news. For so long she had convinced herself that she would never be a mom. She never tried to prevent pregnancy, truly thinking that she didn't need to be careful when it came to men. In the 600 years since she was turned, never once had she taken birth control pills, used a condom, or entertained any other birth control. She simply didn't need it. So now that she was pregnant, there was a whole slew of questions and concerns that swirled around in her brain.
Once the doctor had finally left, her eyes looked longingly at Troy. She assumed he was just as confused about this whole thing as she was. They really needed to talk about it. They needed to discuss what was going to happen and how to proceed...not only from a standpoint that they were pregnant...but also from a relationship standpoint. She didn't even know if Troy was going to stick around. He didn't strike her as the fatherly type.
However, when he spoke, exclaiming that he was going to be a dad, a smile spread across her lips. In an instant, she leaned up to hug him close, pulling him towards her on the sofa. Slowly she released him, sitting up and motioning for him to join her on the couch. Once he was situated, she leaned into his body, curling up against him. Her hand rested softly on her abdomen and then she felt the baby moving again. Taking his hand, she placed it on her belly so he could feel the small life within her.
Silence filled the room as she tried to think about how she wanted to approach this topic with him. There was so much to talk about, so much that they needed to say. "I'm sorry I roped you into all of this." If she had known...she would have been more careful. While she was secretly excited to have the opportunity to be a mom, she felt bad for getting knocked up without even trying. She had pulled Troy into this mess even if he didn't necessarily want to be in all of this. She sighed as she leaned against him, wanting him to hold her against his firm chest and offer her comfort. She wasn't sure what was going to happen it the weeks that followed, but she hoped that Troy would be there to help her through it.
