Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
He couldn't be more proud of Adelaide for realizing one of her many dreams and opening up a Bistro in the south part of town. It fit in right there on the peaceful shoreline with the beach waves rolling in as a perfect backdrop. People kept coming back even after the grand opening. Good customer service was never overrated and Taylor knew they would keep coming back for the great food and smiling faces that always greeted them. Adelaide had done good in her hiring process, taking on the people he met that first day. He didn't know if they had experience in the customer service department before but if they didn't, they picked up on it quickly cause they all acted like naturals in taking orders and making sure everyone left happy and full. He visited the bistro as much as he could, spending many an evening hanging on the couch in the back corner, his favorite perch to sit and drink some coffee or soda while he watched the staff (not to mention his favorite staff member) deal with the customers. He was never one for reading but just so he didn't seem like a creep or anything, he started bringing a newspaper or magazine in with him so he could sit and read, just something to look like he was doing while really his eyes kept peeking over the corner of the pages to watch a certain dark brunette move around the bistro as if she owned it, which, she did. She was a natural at this whole owning a business sort of thing. She was so independent and confident that he couldn't picture a better thing for her here in Sacrosanct. At least he knew she would be sticking around for a while. Besides her parents, she made it seem like there really was nothing left for her back in Paris and secretly he couldn't be more glad. He wanted her here where he could watch over her and keep building on whatever it was they had. He couldn't forget that first kiss they shared on the hilltop outside of Sacrosanct. His lips burned with anticipation of the next every time he thought about it or generally looked in her direction. Needless to say, the morning working at her mansion were even more fun with the stolen looks they would give each other behind Townsend's back. Now they had even more meaning behind them cause he knew how she tasted. And God, how he wanted more. Much more. Tonight he had decided to stay in, not wanting to break Adelaide from her routine with the bistro while he did some actual chores around the house, or apartment, I guess you could say. It felt odd to have a place to clean now but he didn't have a maid here so he was responsible for sweeping and vacumming and dusting so he tried to keep up with it. It's not like he was here a whole lot. He spent almost every waking moment at Adelaide's cleaning up the yard and by evening, he was so worn out that he usually made a sandwich or something when he got home and crashed. Sometimes he didn't even make it to the bed. He'd crashed on the couch more than a few times accidentally. Good thing it was pretty comfortable. Tonight hadn't been quite so bad though. Maybe Townsend was actually starting to like him or maybe he was just tired himself so he didn't give Taylor too many hard tasks. He finished up early and Townsend gave him the okay to head home so he grabbed a few groceries for a decent meal tonight and headed home to do some cooking. It was weird calling a place home since the last place he'd thought of like that had been his parents' house. Between that and this was a long line of hotel rooms and that apartment he had when he first moved out but that was just a place to sleep, never a home. But now he had a place to call his own, at least as long as he paid the mortgage. He felt at home here too. He finished up the last of his cleaning and decided to plant himself on the couch. It was getting dark outside so he turned on the tv to see what was on. Deciding it didn't really matter much, he started thinking about what he wanted to eat and that was right about the time there was a soft knock on the door. Confused, his brows knitted together and for a brief second, he thought about grabbing his 45 out of his sock drawer, thoughts of Doug dancing in his head for a minute before he dismissed it and headed cautiously toward the door. He did glance toward the kitchen bar to make sure he knew where the baseball bat was that he kept only for self defense, not because he played baseball or anything, before he glanced through the peep hole. His eyes lit up the minute he took in her dark brunette hair and bright green eyes, his lips automatically tugging into a smirk as he took the lock off the door and opened it slowly, leaning against the doorframe lazily as he tilted his head to take her in. He couldn't help the lazy way he looked her up and down, from those cute little shoes she wore to the streamlined dress pants and blazer she adorned and all the way up further to finally meet her beautiful gaze. She was a sight to behold. He bit on his bottom lip, bad thoughts racing through his mind for a moment before he brushed them aside, his eyes glittering that much more as he cleared his throat and ran a hand through his hair. He thanked God he had enough time when he got home to grab a shower and throw on a clean pair of pants and a green tshirt that matched his eyes. He hadn't had a chance to shave yet though so he had a little 5 o'clock shadow building on his chin. He didn't have a lot of time to think about that though as he eyed the beautiful woman on his door mat. "Well, well, look what I have here. A surprise guest." He raised a brow playfully before stepping aside. "Please, come in. I was beginning to think you'd forgotten I sent you my address. Or that you just weren't interested in seeing it." |
