Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Warmth radiated from Carolina's palm as it nestled comfortably against the cold pallor of his own, the young woman graceful with her every step as she led the way up towards her apartment on the third floor. She paused in front of the all too familiar door, her hand slipping from Sebastian's own as she fished her keys from her pocket. In mere moments, the door was opened, giving the Englishman a glimpse into the darkened, homely interior. His attention, however, was fleeting as Carolina pivoted upon her heels, only to snatch the boxes of crepes from his bodyguards with the sweet smile of a true Southern bell. The action alone caused his brows to raise and yet, she was quick to disappear into the depths of the flat, leaving the Prince to deal with the men that remained his constant shadow. Sebastian was nothing short of demanding as he insisted the two men wait outside the apartment door for him, even in spite of the exchanged glances such a command was met with. They hardly fought him on the matter, however, simply taking up their sentry positions on either side of the door frame as Sebastian retreated inside after Carolina's sashaying hips.
Sebastian closed the front door securely behind him, the navy hue of his irises turned towards the once sparse apartment, now filled with rustic second hand furniture. It was...quaint, to say the least. Cozy, maybe. Hardly the sort of furnishings the Incubus himself would have kept but, by the same token, he had certainly spent the night in far worse places. It was the scent of a candle that caught his nose, his undead senses so much....more then the average mortal....or immortal, for that matter. His head tilted upwards ever so slightly as he scented the air in a distinctly rare glimpse of the vampire he was beneath that suave exterior. His brow rose and yet, Sebastian said little of whatever conclusion he drew of his observations. Rather, the intense blue of his gaze fluttered towards the woman who watched him, their eyes met for but a brief moment before a soft simper fluttered across the Englishman's features as he settled at the bare half of her kitchen table. Inquisitively, his eyes drifted over the bills and clothing strewn across the table though he hardly paid it much heed, the Prince nothing short of polite as his thoughts turned instead towards the far more pressing matter of his own privacy.
The very mention of Carolina's Alpha, and his own brother-in-law, seemed to spark a glimpse of confusion upon her fair features, though Sebastian made little effort to explain the reasons behind his own peculiar request. He watched as she considered him, only to let her shoulders rise slightly in a vague shrug. Her acceptance of his request prompted that charming smile to once again settle upon his lips. Sebastian's head dipped ever so slightly, "Thank you, love." He commented, appreciating at least her understanding of his desire for...discretion. The quiet pop of the lids on the crepe containers garnered Sebastian's attention. He could smell the sweetness of their desserts, even as the Prince insisted they were best to be indulged whilst he explained the peculiarities of one small red thread that had earlier so intrigued her. The last thing he anticipated, however, was the sleepy meow reverberating from the bedroom, his brow furrowed ever so slightly. Sebastian hadn't known that Carolina had gotten a cat, or had she merely had one all this time? "I don't mind them." The Englishman responded, easily catching sight of the grey tabby cat, stretching out it's slender feline figure as he emerged from the bedroom.
For several moments, he watched the feline, until Carolina herself joined him at the kitchen table, a mismatched plate placed in front of him with his own crepe. "Thank you." He uttered softly, taking the offered fork from the woman. His offer for an explanation, of course, had hardly been forgotten, her mention of it drew Sebastian's gaze upwards just in time to note that 'cheers' he was given with the tip of her fork. A soft chuckle left the Englishman's lips before he nodded, cutting the edge of the crepe off with the side of his own fork. "Yes, I was." With his free hand, Sebastian easily reached up, plucking that bright red thread from thin air. It fluttered down, piling in the palm of his hand. The vampire offered it to her, sticking the bite he'd cut off into his mouth in the process. He allowed her the moment to inspect it as he chewed. "It is...a special ribbon. It cannot be cut, cannot be broken, and can stretch over any distance for an eternity. It...is how I will always be able to find you. You won't notice it's there. You won't see it. You won't feel it...but it will be there." He offered as an explanation, glancing inquisitively up at her before he placed his fork down. Sebastian gestured lightly for her wrist, unfurling the ribbon before tying it ever so neatly in a bow around her wrist, the soft satin material brushing up against her skin. "It won't tell me when you're in danger...but I like to think I'd notice your absence." A grin fluttered across his features, his eyebrow cocked upwards ever so slightly.
