Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Fortunately, it seemed, for Edie, the appearance of Frost interrupted her line of thought. God, depths of affection she wasn't quite sure she truly felt had been about to slip off her tongue. No, no, Edie as certain she didn't actually love the man, it was merely gratitude for the situation. She was fond of him, yes. She might have even admitted she wanted him around. But anything more than that brushed on levels of commitment that Edie had sworn she would never, ever feel again. Still, Frost's sudden appearance only made her mind draw away from Kato, the weaker girl attempting unsuccessfully to force herself up to a standing position at the presence of her Alpha. She gave up after only a moment â€" the pain in her side wouldn't allow it, and neither would Kato's hold on her. It was his tone that caused shivers to run down her spine. That playful demeanor she'd grown used to with her Alpha was replaced instead by the icy tone of voice that perfectly matched his name.

The Were girl quivered noticeably as Frost lowered himself to her side. He was angry. That much was apparent even to Edie, and the thought of disappointing him... Nadya was right. She was a terrible Beta. She half anticipated to be thrown out of his pack for her actions, and she wouldn't blame him in the slightest if he did. A small, uncharacteristic whimper of pain was all she afforded him in greeting as he removed the towel from her side. She was too tired to fight, too weak to argue. Her gaze dropped submissively at his scolding, the tiniest appearance of a nod give to him. "I know. I wasn't. I..." She shook her head, the tears she'd thought she had under control starting once more. These tears weren't of pain, necessarily â€" though she did feel a great deal of that, too â€" but entirely due to her emotional state. It had been a long day, and the normal amounts of fight the girl had had entirely drained away. It was his nickname for her said with a hint of fondness that had brought the tears, and now that they were coming, they weren't going to stop. A brief nod is all she awards him to the insistence that he would want to know everything that had happened on the Ark. Everything. Including Nadya. God, he was going to be furious with her.

The warmth that immediately spread through her body caused the shivering to stop in the girl, her eyes fluttering shut for just a moment as she took it all in. "Thank you," She offered him gently, clearly expecting that it was the end of what he would â€" or could â€" do for her. But it was that pressure he put on her injured side that awarded him a howl of pain, the injured girl attempting to jerk her body away from him. It was fruitless, of course, the man certainly stronger and more capable than she to keep her near him. Her mouth parted in protest as his thumb dragged across her wound, though no sound came as she watched the wound heal itself. Her quick gaze up to Frost just barely caught the flinch he gave her, and her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Using her own power hardly hurt her, the notion of it harming him rather confusing. And besides, why had he not mentioned he could heal, knowing it was her power as well? Later, in private, she would interrogate the man regarding the power, but for now she merely ran her fingers down her own side.

She felt better, certainly, though still weak from the blood loss. At least now she was able to sit up properly, though the initial strike that had sent her tumbling across the deck had likely resulted in a few broken ribs. Interestingly enough, Frost hadn't healed those wounds, though she didn't ask why. It was her reminder, she was sure, for her own stupidity. Still, the woman swung her legs to sit properly on the couch, sure that she might have to step in to keep Frost from murdering the man that had saved her life. She'd expected a strong reaction based on his cold tone, not the thanks or the greeting that followed. Edie relaxed just slightly as the pair shook hands, though it was short lived as that right hook collided with Kato's nose.

His reasoning caused a flicker of amusement from the girl, though the expression on Kato's face caused that to die out quickly. She tensed to stand, relieved when Frost seemed to back away from Kato. That seemed to be the end of it, then, a simple display of dominance that Edie would surely tease him for later when the situation was not so dire. She was acutely aware of the way that her Alpha moved so differently as he walked, or how he seemed to be favoring the side that he had just healed on Edie's own. What had he done?

Edie's fingers interlaced in her lap as she took in the question, fully expecting that she would be the one to give the report. After all, it was her mission, her ideas, her pack. And though she knew there would be consequences for her reckless actions, they were hers to take, not Kato's. Her eyes flashed to the rhino that stood between her and Frost, a furrow of confusion setting on her brow. Was he protecting her? From Frost? She hardly had time to question it when the ground below her shook, the girl letting out a surprised noise as the floor split, the line going around Frost's chair as though he was... targeted? Her eyes flashed to Kato, sure that this was his power, and for once the girl was entirely not amused by the rhino.

She hardly got a chance to speak, however, as Kato continued to lecture Frost. The rhino was angry, that much was obvious, though what Edie had perceived as anger towards her was clearly showing itself as anger towards her Alpha. It stung to hear his words, hear her referred to as his Beta rather than by her name. Stung to hear her inability to fight brought to the front line, or worse, the vocalization that Edie had nearly died. When Kato had paused in his rant, the girl turned to him, her hand pressing into Kato's shoulder until he was seated on the couch.

"That's enough," She said as she stood in front of him, this time her body angling between her Alpha and her... Kato. Her voice was stiff, both with annoyance and the professionalism that her position required at the moment. "Kato. Thank you for all you've done for me tonight, but..." Her voice faltered, unable to actually talk to him as though he was beneath her. That fondness showed in her voice as she continued, reaching down to take his hand in hers gently. "It was my decision to go to the Ark, you know that. Please don't talk to Frost as though I am a child incapable of making my own choices. I would appreciate it if you would not ruin my pack home any further. The rest of my pack is upstairs, asleep, and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't split the foundation. Now, please relax and calm down while I update Frost on what happened." In an almost territorial fashion, the girl leaned down, brushing her lips against Kato's. He was important to her, and showing Frost that would hopefully keep the man from any sort of retaliation towards the rhino.

Turning, she stood in front of Frost, her eyes raised to meet his. With her injury gone, it was easier for that defiant girl to reemerge, though her feistiness was certainly subdued. Nadya had taken a hit to the woman's ego, one that wouldn't recover immediately. Her voice was emotionless as she spoke as though she was reading facts from a book.

"It was easy to get into the Ark. Their security isn't tight, but I imagine you knew that already. I was watching the fights when the crowd started talking about Nadya, and one of them pointed her out to me. I kept my eye on her â€" I know what she is to you, I'm not stupid. And when she went into the bowels of the ship alone, I followed her. Introduced myself, if you will." She couldn't help it, a small smirk appeared on her lip, though it faded quickly with the knowledge of the rest of what she'd have to tell him. "We spoke for a moment before she shifted, and I shifted as well and followed her to the upper deck. There's no security up there, by the way. If you want a private conversation, that's the place to do it."

She shifted on her feet. "I taunted her. I could tell she was upset, and I just..." She shrugged. "She struck me. She's more... powerful than I in my Were form." That Frost didn't know what exactly her form was, or how small she was, was still something she kept to herself, though a full moon was approaching and there would be no hiding it then. "I should have shut up then. I tried to leave, but I may have..." Sheepishly, the girl reached up to tug a hand through her hair in an entirely nervous fashion. "She told me that if you wanted her, to come get her. I told her that if she didn't want you, I'd take you." Her eyes flashed to Kato, then back to Frost. "I was... teasing. Of course. But that's when things got bad. She can explode things with her power, I didn't know if you know that. She used that to corner me against the railing of the ship and that's how I got..." The girl motioned to the wood on the rug. "I shifted back. I can't swim in either form, and I figured it would be easier to grab onto something in my human form. I called out for Kato, I knew he was nearby and was hoping he'd hear me, and that spooked her. She exploded the floor under me and I was in the water, after that. And Kato pulled me out."

With the entirety of the events of the night laid out to her, Edie merely ducked her head, moving to sit on the couch beside Kato. Her hand reached to put a hand on his knee, her desire to be close to him seeming to be overwhelm her at the moment. She had no idea what Frost's reaction might be to her tale, though she hoped that the rhino beside her would at least keep his promise to stay near her.
