Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Had Samantha not just woken from her sleep, she was sure that she would have hesitated from throwing her arms around the faerie man that stood shirtless before her. Samantha was hardly bothered by the state of Dorian's undress, but his fifteenth-century ways would surely lean that this was entirely inappropriate. Surely she'd have to marry him now to make it less inappropriate. The young empath was not oblivious to his discomfort, though she hardly cared in her relief to see him again. Still, she was even more pleased that he returned the embrace, even if it was a short, chaste thing that lasted only a second. "I'm going to have to get you a cell phone," Samantha muttered as she stepped back from him ever so slightly. That she had no idea how to actually explain to him how the phone would work was a problem for later. For now, she was more concerned that she be able to contact him in the event that he didn't come home.

The young faerie was about to let the matter drop entirely when the two puncture wounds on Dorian's neck caused her to pause. It was instinctual that she reached to press her fingers against his neck. She cared not what the gesture might mean, or how it might be taken by the faerie. Her mind was going to the night she'd ran across those two vampires in the forest. The way the male's bite had felt against her neck, the terror she'd felt in realizing that somehow he was making her want his bite. Oh god, what if the same thing had happened to Dorian. Her Dorian? The question that tumbled out of her lips was instinct, the woman's worried tone not subsided by the hold that Dorian took on her. "Dorian, answer me." Her tone was firm, demanding, leaving no room for him to avoid her questioning. If he got bit, if he was attacked, that fell on her, didn't it? She was his queen now, was she not? If he was attacked, it was up to her to decide if it was worth reacting to.

"Of course I would be distressed by your absence, Dorian!" The faerie's voice was full of the annoyance she felt towards his not so subtle attempts at soothing her. Though his thanks immediately made her huff, her arms crossing across her chest as she gazed up at him. "You're my..." She stopped herself on the word roommate, realizing now that Dorian certainly fell into a different spectrum than that. She was fond of him, entirely so. And not in the way of just a roommate, nor in the way of a member of her monarchy. No, he was more than that. "You're my best friend, Dorian. If anything happened to you I'd be beside myself." The words were remarkably true, and the woman uttered them with a hushed tone as she ducked her head down.

Samantha is given only seconds to process the rank she had presented him with before his answer to her previous question caused a wave of anxiety to wash over her. He... allowed it? He allowed the bite to happen, for another to feed off of him? Dorian, her Dorian, who barely handled the idea of her unmarried self sleeping over in Aiden's bed without a chaperone had allowed a vampire to willingly feed off of him? The faerie gaped at the male in front of her, utterly speechless as he continued. Though his words were chaste, she was not oblivious to their meaning. The words, his sigh, the disheveled appearance of him? All of it told the story of the night before, and Samantha had to admit she was not pleased, not in the slightest. The annoyance that the woman felt had to have been clear on her features, judging by the way the faerie man turned away from her to dig for a clean shirt.

"I think you're an idiot," Samantha said firmly, moving to sit on the edge of his bed. "I just told you that there are Hunters after faeries - those hunters are the bandits that kidnapped you, in case you've forgotten. I just told you that, and it's my job as your queen to keep you safe, and you go and let a vampire feed off of you. Do you have any idea how stupid that is? What if he had killed you!" Her voice rose ever so slightly. She was hardly angry at the man, quite the opposite, really. She was worried, upset. Had he no regard for himself? No regard for how she would have felt had something happened to him? "You can't trust vampires, Dorian. You just can't."

The woman seemed to let the situation go, shaking her head in an attempt to calm herself. She could feel the bubbling feeling of the power she had yet to learn to control ebbing under her skin, and truthfully she had no idea what the worry and anger mixed together would do. Anger had seemed to break the glass, and she had little desire to try that again. "Don't do that again. In fact, don't go out after dark. I don't want to have to worry that you're getting yourself hurt, since you've clearly shown me that you have very poor self preservation skills." She looked up, meeting his eyes as he turned once again towards her. "So you'll be inside this apartment during the night. That's an order." It was perhaps the first she'd given in her new role, and though she hardly thought that he would actually do what she asked, the whole purpose of the queen thing was to keep him safe. She couldn't do that if he threw himself into danger. "Now," She said finally as she stood, her voice still mildly huffy. "I'm going to go find a book or something, since you've clearly forgotten that we had plans this morning."
