Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Nadya Tetradore
A soft smile replaced Nadya's uncertain expression as she listened to Sam. "Of course he thinks you're beautiful. I wouldn't call my brother lazy...but...he's not going to give just any girl his attention and effort like he has with you." Nadya waved her hand to the room for case-in-point being her new apartment. She was more than willing to help her dear friend if it was truly what she wanted more so than just wanting to do something she thought her brother would like. So she agreed and set to work requesting the supplies needed to do so. When Sam left the room to collect the towels Nadya returned her attention to inspecting the dress that had been thrust into her hands with nervous explanation. It was certainly well done, the seams secure and tight between her fingers and the pattern was unique.
"Designer school hmm?" Nadya commented lightly, setting the dress aside as she stepped up to Sam behind the chair and pulled on the gloves. "I've done a few patches on the girl's outfits before you started working there but it was nothing more than what my mother taught...simple hemming and hole repair." She scanned the box of dye to ensure it was the same method as the last she had used before beginning to part Sam's hair and go along squeezing the bottle along while working the solution into her hair. There was silence in which Nadya used to think, not sure how Sam would receive the new idea that had just come to her. "You're very talented...and I think you should use it. When I start going back to the burlesque then...I won't need you to be manager anymore. I do appreciate you watching the twins while I work but we both know it won't pay the bills for this place. I think your designing could though. I'd like to see what else you can do. If the girls are wearing your outfits then that's advertisement right there and you could make a business out of it. And it pays much better than a babysitting gig."
Nadya finished the last of the solution from the bottle, setting aside the empty container before working the strands of hair between her gloved hands to ensure all of it was thoroughly coated. Carefully she gathered Sam's hair, twisted it into a loose bun, then pinned it with a large hair clip before covering her head with a plastic hair cover. "Ok, now we wait 30 minutes before washing you in the sink." Nadya stepped back and peeled off the used gloves. "So....think you can do that? Make more for me to see and we can get you following that dream of yours." She smiled at the...once blonde...as she plucked Micah from the playpen to settle him on her hip. Micah's curious gaze was on Sam in her strange headdress causing Nadya to giggle softly at his expression. "Auntie Sam looks silly doesn't she?" She shifted to offer Micah to Sam if she wanted. "After we finish here maybe we could go to the park for a bit and tire them out so they'll take a nap. Mom said they've been refusing lately and getting to be world war 3 by dinner time." If it were anyone else Nadya would probably feel guilty making an outing revolve around a children's activity but she knew Sam adored the twins so hardly thought twice about spending time with them or the child-friendly restrictions to their activities.
