South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
Okay, so maybe I was just a weeee bit excitable and maybe I didn't quite get it but I hated the idea of just living your life eternally in fear. I mean, I know Papa does that now kinda. He's been over cautious ever since my mother died and he's kinda buried himself in his work but mother would have been so upset to see him like that. I don't want her to be upset at me either just because an unfortunate event took her from us. I want her to look down from heaven at me with pride! Because I got out there and lived and met new people and, damn right, I glowed! Mama did always call me her little firefly and I was determined to still be that! And so, to be frank, my glowing feetsies were the least of my concern, much less the little slightly glowing marks I left on the back of the ebony horse I hopped on. After all, that glowy dust I left behind would come off. She just...might look a little rave-tastic for a bit. That's all. I was a little bit caught up in my excitement the closer we got to that apple tree. I mean, I've been craving apples FOR DAYS but venturing out to that grocery store just seemed downright terrifying. There were so many people! So much food! So many choices! This just felt right.

Still, I was watching the tree with super big eyes as Calliel came to stand beneath it and without hesitation I reached up to try to grab the apple just hanging from the branch above us. Unfortunately, it was still a wee bit too high for me and when that apple was just within my grasp, I went tumbling. Eek! I was too short! Even all stretched out and hoppity like, I was just too short. Why couldn't I be TALLER?! Like Calliel? Oh! Calliel! Eagerly, I asked her if maybe she could reach the apple! I mean, she was biggg and she could stretch far and even with me on her back, her head was still higher than me! Surely she could reach it right?! I couldn't help the way I wiggled as she reached up for us, plucking the apple from the tree branch with her teeth only to turn and place it just in front of me. Ahhh! How exciting!!! I rushed forward to grab it in my paws, that glowing that had assaulted my feet entirely gone within those sweet moments and yet, before I even so much as bit into that apple, Calliel's voice reached out to me. She couldn't get more apples? Whhhhhhattttt?!?!? Well this certainly would not do! I mean, I could certainly see more apples and I couldn't just take the ONLY apple and not share it with my newfound friend could I? Nope nope nope!

I handed the apple back towards her, waiting only as long as it took for her to take it before I waddled up to the girl's withers. My eyes were dead set on those apples. We were gonna get them! Mark my words! "Okay, Calliel. I got this. Can I climb on your head? I need a little boost to get up there but then I can get us all the apples! I promise!" I was quite solemn with my words. After all I totally knew I had claws and I can't imagine she was too keen to having me on her head. Still, I can be very very gentle and I knew if I got that extra boost I could totally reach them all! See, I was trying to be considerate of what I ask. Mom told me you should never ask of someone something you weren't willing to do yourself. I mean, worse case scenario I guess I could climb from the bottom....or maybe shift or something. Either way, I was utterly determined to share a meal with my new friend. That's how you confirm your friendship, you know! With food!!!!
