South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The stars in their orbits

and the stars in their orbits shone pale through the lightof the brighter, colder moon

Even though Nadya could easily buy meat cut and ready to cook from the market she much preferred to hunt for it then take it home to prepare. It was much more fresh, a taste completely different than the farm raised animals the market sold. Though the size and strength of the blackened jaguar could have taken down much larger prey Nadya's choice remained in the category of small animal due to the ease of carrying it back home. However, it did not mean it was any easier to catch. If anything the smaller the prey the harder to catch as it was swifter and more alert than the larger prey items. In Nadya's state of pregnancy it was also no walk in the park to reach the speeds she used to. Such a night had proven to be frustrating to say the least as a wild boar had gotten away and she spent the night half hour prowling for something else. The winter chill and layer of snow on the ground did not draw prey out into the open like the spring months of fresh dewy grass.

Just when Nadya felt she was going to give up a hare loped out from under a bush to make its way warily towards the next patch of coverage. Her whole body tensed and lowered down against the large low hanging branch that held her, cats eyes tracking every movement of the hare, calculating and planning until like a toy wound too tight she sprung down. Her massive form hit the ground running right behind the hare that took off at the sight of her. Snow went flying as every paw from both prey and predator kicked up the white powder in a flurry of zigzags attempting to out run one another. A panther was built for strength and power, short bursts and not marathons which made catching up to the hare difficult with all the tight turns and her tail flailing in circles to correct her change of direction. No longer able to follow Nadya slowed to a stop, her jaws parted as white puffs of air escaped, lips peeling back to let out an irritated hiss in the direction the hare had disappeared too.

Nadya let out a snort of irritation, shaking her whole body as if to remove the whole event from memory before turning about to head back home. Out of the corner of her eye though she caught a glimpse of something...human when she was passing a tree. Curiosity overtook the giant cat and paused to investigate the neatly folded obviously female clothes and the scent that enveloped them. Her bright eyes scanned the surrounding environment for the owner of the clothes and she might have overlooked the small fox altogether had she not been specifically looking. The fox's fading spring to winter coat was definitely an ideal camouflage. Nadya tilted her head to the side slightly with her ears pricked up and alert. "Who are you?" There was no accusation or anger in her tone, simple and curious, as it reached out to brush against the unfamiliar wavelength of the fox's mind.
