South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Hold on to this lullaby; even when the music's gone

She's tugging at the hem of her t-shirt, debating on whether or not she wanted to go for a run. It is still early in the morning when she descends into the kitchen and after foraging for some food she's shrugging on a jacket and after checking the living room she found the book she'd been looking for. This she tucks inside her jacket, hugging it close to her chest as she exits the back door.

She'd been attempting for days to figure out how to read the book she was holding, this is what has her jumping out into the chill weather with an apple in her pocket and her feet taking her towards the park. She found it a place of solace now, where before it had been a place of fear, it was one place where she could come and be alone if she needed to be. She first searches the perimeter of her destination, something she was learning that she really must be more aware of her surroundings. As if the other night had been any indication of such.

Satisfied that she there were no were's in her general vicinity she settled down on a bench and pulled out the book. It was one of Frost's, written in Icelandic, determined to finally be able to understand even a little bit of it. It wasn't going very well and this only caused her frustration to grow but she found that she enjoyed the challenge. It also gave her something to do when she wasn't exploring or baking or at the café. She really liked that place, it was warm and inviting and so far she hadn't experienced any fear. Wasn't that what it was supposed to be? No fear, a safety net and security that all was well?

Footsteps sounded behind her but she paid it no mind yet, instead running her finger like a dutiful student over the lines of text, sounding them out as she went. She thought the person would go away, instead, they came towards her and in reaction she looked up, tilting her face up slightly to catch the wind. It was a slightly familiar scent but one she couldn't place, instead she turned to look over her shoulder, "Can I help you?" She asks, closing the book and marking her page. Surprisingly she was calm, usually she'd be jumping out of her skin by now. But maybe it was because of the close proximity to home or the fact that she could feel the pack bond humming in the back of her mind.
