West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

That rather unanticipated visit to that fall festival of sorts in preparation for that distinctly witchy holiday had been nothing short of inspiring to the young witch, even if her awe and excitement was left largely behind that reserved face of cynicism that Serafina often regarded the world with. Even so, she had indulged herself quite significantly, nearly dragging her boyfriend through every facet of that event till both of their arms were filled with purchases she had quite near insisted she have, even if it was for the profit it would turn within her store. There were, however, some aspects of that festival that had enticed her for far more personal reasons, some of which were surely atypical for the often stoic woman. It was those numerous potions that had become the very object of her obsession - they alone were one stereotypical part of being a witch that she was particularly adept at. She knew well the combinations and incantations for those more profitable and purposeful potions - from healing ailments to seduction and good luck. Rather, it was those potions that would have sold absolutely abysmally in her store that had fascinated her most. They were little more than party tricks, really, creations meant to awe and inspire for some fleeting moment and yet, Serafina had never seen anything quite like That. Her apprenticeship had been entirely focused, after all, on the monetary value of her creations.

It was this that had occupied the young woman for the majority of her day, that project tended to with such diligent determination the moment her store was empty for any great length of time. It had been nearly an hour since anyone had walked through that front door, the bell attached to that handle was silent and her ghost sentry was all too keen to simply remain nestled in a small nook by the front window, staring out at that world and the water beyond. At the very least, she certainly should have had any sort of notice should that little store be entered. It was, however, those ghastly creature's familiarity with her familiar's presence that kept the witch's usual precautions from informing her of her companion's presence. That is, at least until the woman was already into the back of Serafina's store, her voice and that simple quandary quite near caused Serafina to jump. "Jesus Christ." She commented, as she turned on her heels, her hand clutched over her heart with several pink flower petals clutched in her fist. "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" She inquired and yet, there was hardly any trace of venom in her voice, the young woman merely...surprised.

It took her several moments before that question truly registered, the woman turned but briefly back towards that bowel of poignant perfumed liquid, dropping several of those pink petals within it's depths. "It's kind of stupid honestly." She admitted, reaching for a small vial, a corner of her workshop already littered with broken glass. "But I think I've finally got it. Would you like to see?" She inquired, pouring some of that liquid into that tube. She placed a stopper on top, pausing to shake it. "Just a few good shakes...." Serafina spoke, quite near counting in her head. "All right, ready? Fingers crossed!" It was rare, truly, for the woman to be in such a good mood and yet, standing upon the precipice of success, no matter how menial, tended to bring out her better nature. Serafina threw that vial against the wall, the woman simply watching as the glass shattered and yet, rather than liquid, a puff of pink, glittered smoke filled the air around that little vial, lingering for a moment before, slowly, something peculiar happened. Butterflies began to slowly flutter from that hazy cloud, filling the room with pink incandescent wings. That grin had settled upon Serafina's features as her gaze shifted from her handiwork to the woman within her little workshop. Now, wasn't that beautifully fascinating?!
