East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

For someone who, in her own words 'didn't want to make all the decisions' he was quite sure she was doing it anyway. Not that he really minded, he supposed. He'd take it upon himself as to whether he was inclined to follow those decisions or not and yet she amused him all the same. Arlo quite sure he had never met anyone this stressed, exactly. After all, she'd only been here like, an hour, and she already seemed to be having some sort of episode of stress-induced bossiness. At least, that was what he'd decided to call it. It was fortunate perhaps, that the vampire was hardly inclined to be argumentative. His far more relaxed demeanour seeming take in all her own anxiety with ease and yet he was rather inclined to believe his entirely relaxed attitude to life in general seemed to only bother her all the more. His head simply nodding to her determination to see if any stores opened late. Why she was so determined that he came he still hardly knew and yet, along with that every un-fussed demeanour there existed a part of the man that was rather determined to please people. It was simply the way he was. He could hardly help it. He wanted to people to....enjoy his company, he supposed. The man inclined to at least attempt to appease them in some way. Arlo moving to change the conversation towards his Panda. Everyone liked pets right? This was surely a better topic then furniture.

Maybe not.

One blue eye lifted slightly at her query as to whether or not he was joking. Arlo rather surprised she wasn't entirely taken with the pictures of the adorable bear like he was sure most women would be. Maybe she hated animals? Although who could hate his Panda he hardly knew. This mention of being good a Photoshop saw his features shift into an entirely dubious look. That would have been rather a waste off his time to Photoshop fifty pictures of a Panda into his apartment. Then again, he supposed, it wasn't exactly as if he didn't have the time for it. The sudden hysterical giggling from the woman saw that look of surprise hurry back onto his features. Maybe he'd broken her. She seemed a little...unhinged right now. Maybe the Panda had been a bad idea. Either that or she was descending into some sort of panic attack. He could hear her heart beating faster although somehow he suspected 'calm down' were not ideal words right now. Telling a woman to 'calm down, ever, seemed to result in yelling. God he remembered that all too well. The man determinedly pushing those thoughts from his mind as she declared Little Bear might have rabies, a snort erupting from within him.

"It's not like I can catch it- oh."

The realisation of that sentence occurred perhaps too late. If the woman hadn't realised he was a vampire by now, the notion of him being immune to communicable diseases was surely lost on her- a doctor of all things. Great. Now she was going to think he was some sort of anti-vaccine person and take him to get his shots. The idea they were going to get arrested returned that lopsided grin to his lips all the same.

"Arrested by who? The animal police? She doesn't live here she just visits most nights. Im not even breaking the rental contract. It doesn't say animals can't visit and she's not wild. I think someone must have trained her actually....she does things...."

He paused briefly in his contemplation of that, the look of amusement on his features seeming to send the poor woman over the edge entirely, her hands on her hips now as she faced him before declaring very loudly that animals were unsanitary for.....a lot of reasons apparently. Arlo struggling once more to keep that chuckle at bay. He hardly found what she was saying amusing so much as he found her so....alarming as a being. How did she function? Was she THIS worried about everything all the time?

"You know, most people at the hospital were you're going to work at are probably unsanitary too, the Panda is probably cleaner than them and if it really bothers you I'll teach her to wash her hands. Im pretty sure I could. Can't do much about the shedding but ive never really noticed it. I don't think Pandas shed..."

So maybe it wasn't the best argument, but still, he was right. Hospitals were filled with unsanitary things and she was choosing to work in one. Double standards. He was sure. The woman declaring she was not stressed in a voice he was sure implied she was. The girl apparently just took her life seriously.

"Yeah, I can see that."

He mused the words more to himself, whatever else he was going to say cut off by her declaration that she as going to cook. Right here and right now- apparently. The woman removing a series of ingredients from her shopping bag before slamming them onto the counter and starting to chop at them like a woman possessed- Arlo blinking at her in evident surprise. This muttering about his Panda entirely clear to him though he made no mention that he could hear her clear as day- that smile threatening on his lips once more.

"You know, babe- er, Mi. That meat is already dead you don't have to knife it so.... vigorously."

Her assertion she was making stew and that he could help momentarily saw the man pause. She didn't expect him to eat it did she? Meat done rare- maybe- he might be inclined to eat but stewed meat? The thought was enough to see his features shift in disdain. One hand lifting to run through his hair in some effort to try and decide how best not to, well, make her more annoyed.

"I guess I can help, what do need? I'll even wash my hands- look, watch me, here I go, being sanitary....."
