East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Doomsday has come early this year;

The commotion was immediate and caught the woman's attention, the loud piercing sound of a gun going off tore through the large park, echoing. Alarm pulsed within her in an urgent and nervous fashion, she loathed guns. Not for their power but for how she was good at them, that without much effort she could find her mark. That smell of the dark hunter in the woods, the very one she caught a whiff of all over in the southern woods. 'Shit', she mumbled to herself in the dark, uneasiness making her shift her weight uncomfortably, the wolf within stirring from its already alert place. She could feel the urgency to shift, forget all about the blade strapped to her, she needed much better weapons than just metal.

Turning into a werewolf was the best and worst thing that had happened to Mira. For one, she was forced to bow down to an Alpha she didn't believe in to save the life of her parents. She had to do terrible things to get by and for some reason, unbeknownst to her, she was a favourite; one of his favourites. Perhaps it was the way she did whatever was necessary to get things done or perhaps it was because she was a tough one to break. Oh, how he loved to break people, test them to their limits until they just couldn't be pushed anymore. Somehow, Mira left before that happened. Most never made it out alive or simply did nothing out of sheer fear of what would happen if they got caught. Well, that night the stars were aligned and she drove until her little dilapidated piece of crap car simply couldn't drive anymore. She set it ablaze knowing well that the alpha had a reach that carried very, very far and she needed to cut all the ties that could trace her here.

A second piercing gun shot rang, this time closer. The scent of two very distinct and opposite creatures became more vivid. A wolf and a hunter, you didn't need to be a genius to figure out what was happening there. A dark hunter + gun + werewolf = bad news. The woman decided not to spare another moment, changing out of her clothes so that they fell into a neat pile on the ground, out of eye sight. All so that she could shift into something more lethal compacted within the form of a perilous wolf. The shift overcame her quickly, her bones breaking and snapping into place as her body seems to reanimate into that creature that dwells inside of her. Her very image of her heart and soul, she liked to think. It was like getting turned inside out, baring her true self to the world, a certain honesty that she could no longer hide from in human skin.

She was much larger than a regular wolf, as was most of their kind, eyes more golden, glowing like small blazing suns, as though they could burn you if you got too close. Her body took on a rich black hue, as dark as the inky shadows, void of all light except for the silver coloured diamond on her chest. She stood strong, panting slightly from the shift, it almost felt like scratching an itch once she transformed into this fabled creature that belonged in story books rather than in real life.

A low threatening growl resonates from her, soft at first only intensifying as the scents drew closer. She does not reveal herself yet taking a moment to peer out to find the dark hunter causing all of this commotion. She spots his form, his posture dangerous and blood thirsty. For but a moment, she wondered who was the real monster who deserved to be hunted. It was him. But where was the wolf?

Like clockwork, she heard a bounding form for a fragmented second before there was a mighty thud of an oddly patterned wolf crashing into her, falling after impact. It ripped the breath from her as she yipped in surprise, nearly flopping over too. Well that answers the 'where' part. She couldn't help the growl that left her wolfish muzzle, almost flashing fang at the other wolf, instinct taking over. The other she-wolf was scared, dazed and confused and unmoving. Was she paralyzed? Mira's whole body shook, to puff out her fur and shake off the feeling of snapping at the poor girl. 'Are you hurt?' she asked curiously, resisting the urge to prod the other wolf with her nose. Maybe she was shot?

Her attention was pulled toward the strong scent of the hunter barrelling after the other woman. The sound of a blade singing through the air had made purchase upon the tree trunk right above her head, that very one that she used for concealment. Her fur bristles, a true angry growl tore from her muzzle as ivory incisors glinted from the dim pale yellow light of a street lamp. 'Bastard.' She cursed at him, a sound only Raven could hear. He would get a taste of what it was like to have foot nearly ripped off. Her tail curls up in dominance before she turns her body to face him, just before she lunges with lightening reflexes at the man. She aims low for the back of the heels, snapping like a rabid dog, not stopping until she hears that sickening snap and the taste of blood drives her into a frenzy. If only it could have been left at that, but it never does. A small silver blade bites into her side which only made her yelp sharply, heating the area as blood spills out fresh and scalding her skin. Shit, she hoped that wasn't tipped in poison like that cursed trap in the woods, but she can't let this set back stop her. It was a battle they could not avoid. A moment that the two, now three, were bound to have. All because of actions past. That lone hungry trap in the woods would be their undoing.
