years I've walked in the coldest winds
from sorrow and pain I find my strength
the more I hurt, the clearer I see.
It wasn't often that the were-King could be found stumbling down those streets of the downtown district. Usually, he tended to stay within the forested borders of the South or that Western part of down he had accumulated as his own. There was exactly one reason for the man to venture so far from his territory - one singular woman that could coax him here. Isolt. Ever since his mistress' return to those city limits, Tetradore had taken it upon himself to check upon her on the regular. Though he suspected his presence within her home only served to put them both at risk, he still found himself attempting to reassure her, to ease her mind, to fix whatever Risque broke within her whilst her fiance was away. Frankly, the sooner Damon got back, the better he'd feel about the whole situation. It was a thought he certainly didn't expect himself to ever have of the man and yet, of late, Tetradore had found himself increasingly relying on others to keep safe those delicate treasures in his life. After all, the were himself was little more than a harbinger of doom. Any connection he had with any of them merely left them open to her. Lately, it had prompted his increasingly solitary lifestyle.
It was those thoughts that lingered on the forefront of his mind as he made his way down that sidewalk and back towards the Ark. Usually, that trip was made in one of those numerous sports cars the cargo ship harbored and yet, today, it had sounded nice to simply wander the streets alone and clear his thoughts. It was almost unfortunate that those efforts were going so poorly. In fact, Tetradore was so completely lost within his own thoughts that he'd hardly noticed the woman he'd once harbored, at least, not until his shoulder quite near ran into her. Those emerald eyes lifted upwards at that contact, quickly focusing upon that familiar face with a near glimpse of surprise. He'd hardly seen the woman in ages, though he suspected that was truly his fault. He had intended to reach out to her upon his return to the Ark after his death, he had intended to make her one of them and yet, somewhere between regaining his position as King and discovering that chain that still hung around his neck, he'd lost her in the process.
"Alexis...it's been a while." He commented, the corner of his lips tilted upwards in a brief, weak simper. "You left the Ark before I got to say goodbye. We miss having you around. How are you doing?" Raven, he knew well, certainly missed the woman. In fact, he was certain she was one of the few upon that list of wedding invitees. It would be nice, to reunite the two women, that distinct care he held for their relationship was almost surprising, even to him and yet, she had become more of a family member through that upcoming marriage then perhaps even his own sibling was to him. It was peculiar, how things had turned out so far from what he had expected and yet...maybe it was all better this way.
