East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Taliah watches the man on the other side of that counter as his green eyes travel the bakery case, lingering on several items within that compartment. She's entirely patient as she waits for him to begin the interaction though he seems to be entirely captivated by the spread of cookies within that case. Allowing her eyes to travel his figure for the briefest of moments, her own green eyes linger on his damp hair. She almost grimaces at the sight, hardly wanting to go outside if it was raining the woman almost always in a state of cold, even if she was in her human form. Her impassive gaze darting back to his face when he finally makes eye contact with her. An unknown emotion seems to travel across his features, Taliah hardly affording that look with anything in return, her eyes merely trained on him as he tilts his head. A look of surprise dances across her face at his first question, the woman merely blinking at him before giving him a firm nod. She hardly needed to say anything, the man making it readily clear that he already knew she was new to the city.

When his gaze lowers to that case again, another question rolling off his tongue, Taliah opens the case and lowers down, looking in the direction he's pointing, "Yes, these, next to them, are Morning Glory's," she says pointing to the frosting-less muffins next to them, "They aren't nearly as sweet but they're still good," she explains before retrieving one of those muffins out with a piece of wax paper and setting it on a plate. With deft fingers, she splits it in half, handing it to the man across the counter, "Here, try it," she says, that quiet voice of hers almost insistent. Though, Taliah hardly ever interacted with others, she would always try and force food into people's hands, the woman never consuming mass amounts of her baked goods. It was, perhaps, enjoyable for the woman to see others eating the sweets she baked, satisfying in a sense. After she pawns off half of that muffin, it doesn't seem to take her customer long to figure out just what he wants.

The moment he begins to list a rather long list of items, Taliah's eyes widen ever so slightly, affording the man another look of surprise. Of course, she had, had several dozen customers over the last few days, yet none of them had ordered quite that much. "Are you planning on eating these all yourself?" She asks, amusement briefly touching her eyes as she begins to reach for those... 'fruity tarty cake thingies' as he so put it. Boxing them up separately, she straightens, her head shifting to look through those doors at the ovens, the scent of fresh cookies so wafting through the bakery. "Did you want to wait a few minutes?" She asks, turning back to the dark man, "I just put a few trays of cookies in the oven, they won't take much longer. Then you can have them fresh out of the oven," she suggests then, planing that box on the counter and turning to head towards the back, hardly waiting for an answer.

Pausing at the doorway, she turns back to glance at the customer. It was nearly closing time, she could afford to dote on the man for a while longer, it wasn't as if she had plans for the evening. "Come on," she gestures to him with a floured hand not waiting to see if he followed her through those double doors and into the warmth of the kitchen. Taliah practically sighs in relief the moment that warmth kisses her skin, though she doesn't pause as she moves to those double stacked ovens, retrieving the towels that are so placed on top. Pulling open the doors, she peers inside to check the cookies, each row a lovely golden brown. Satisfied by what she sees, the woman quickly and efficiently removes the three trays from the oven and slides them onto the speed rack, throwing one of the towels on her shoulder as she turns back to the man. "We will just give them a minute to cool off, you can have as many as you want," she states then before walking up to the man and sidling past him.

Her body barely brushes him as she squeezes past his frame in the tight quarters, moving towards a small work bench that holds a spread of several flavored cupcakes. Reaching for one of those devil food's cake cupcakes with milk chocolate frosting, she turns around once more and hands it to him. "You can have one of these while we're waiting, I made them earlier this afternoon. They're one of my favorites," again that quiet voice is directed at him except this time, she affords the man a small smile, waiting for him to take it before she retrieves her own, proceeding to run her finger through that immaculately decorated frosting, only to lick the chocolate from her finger.
