The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
I know that Isolt is a goody-two shoes. I could tell it from first glance at that rock concert. But I also see a bad girl hidden behind that innocent exterior and that's what kept my interest long enough to glamor her into trusting me. I know somewhere deep inside, she yearns to burst out. Maybe I thought her being a vampire now would release some of that pent up energy but it seems I was wrong. She's only fighting it more now and it's going to end up getting her hurt or worse now that her life is on the line. I know she has a lot of discipline otherwise she would have gone on a killing rampage by now. Her maker would be picking up more bodies than a funeral home if she truly let her inner vampire out but alas, Isolt has proven strong and resilient. And now she's just starving herself. I find myself deeply disappointed and more than a little pissed off at her maker to leave her to her own devices like that. What kind of vampire makes another and then abandons them to feed themselves? That's just looking for a dead vampire or a massacre or both. She's lucky the town hasn't come after Isolt with burning torches and pitchforks by now. I had thought I'd done good by showing her the hide away bar that serves fresh blood, or as fresh as it gets for more vegan style vampires. There are the cowards out there who refuse to drink from a human out of some kind of deep rooted humanity they're too stubborn to let go of so they go for the next best thing, a blood bag. At least the bar knows how to heat it up and make it at least as warm as it should be from a living artery. It'll never be as good as the real thing though, not in my opinion. I was trying to do good by helping her. For some reason, I feel oddly protective of the gullible red head and I want her to see that being a vampire is not such a curse on her own existence. It ca be quite fun and rejuvenating, if only you know how to let go, which she refuses to do. Maybe I'm hoping this phone call will be the start of her doing just that though. Maybe she's finally decided that she needs human blood and she's called on me for help. I can't say I don't feel a little satisfied that I'm her go-to man when it comes to being a vampire. Some would say I'm not much of a good role model, that there are much better vampires out there who could teach her how to be descreet. Well, I say, fuck those vampires. I'm for the real thing. I should have known I'd find her in a bar. She seesm to cling to them as if I'll just show her another place to get a glass of warm blood bag but not tonight. No, tonight I have something much better planned. She stands out in the crowd from the moment I walk through the doors. It's not just the hair. Everything about her screams 'I don't belong here.' For some reason, this continues to draw me to her. I make my way over, seemingly right on time. The men in this place are noticing her and one in particular is giving her the come hither glance that makes me want to run over and rip his throat out right now. I could always use my nifty new energy blast trick and cast him into oblivion but alas, Isolt might not like that and I don't want to scare her off. I come up behind her, the look I give him enough to make him think twice and turn away. I even curl my lip to show a sliver of fang just to entice him further and it works like a charm. I make sure to cover my fang back before Isolt to turn to look at me. Wouldn't want her to know that I'm protecting her. know how stubborn some girls can be about that. She whispers my name and I close my eyes briefly. I love the way it sounds on her lips. She sounds genuinely glad to see me and I like that too. I shake my head and throw my hands up in surrender. "No need to apologize. You can call me anytime, you should know that." I bring my hand up, cupping her chin delicately between my thumb and forefinger to look into her eyes before I release and take a step back to give her space. Finally I grin. "I have a surprise for you. Come with me." I hold my hand out to grasp hers firmly so I can lead her out of this bar. I can't wait to show her where we're going. |
