The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He had spent most of the night researching but he still couldn't pinpoint who would be targetting Sorcha. They had to be connected to her parents but since he didn't know them, that didn't help any. He only wanted Sorcha to be safe. He had paced the hallway multiple times during the night, checking on her in his own way. He had keen hearing and he could hear her tossing and turning during the night. She didn't have a very restful sleep. Sometime around 10-ish he felt the change in her breathing and knew that she was awake. But like most girls, it might take a little while before she emerged from the room so he gave her time. He grabbed the new paper and started to peruse, though he was really listening to what was going on in the guest room. At some point, Adele wandered in and turned on the coffee machine in case anyone wanted any. She warmed up some blood for Erik in his favorite mug and brought it to him. "Thank you, Adele." He said with a smile as he took it from her and took a sip. "Mmm, perfect, as always." She smiled and patted his knee before continuing her own morning routine. "Has sleeping beauty come out yet?" She asked as she started breakfast. He shook his head. "She's in the shower." Adele looked up, giving him a raised brow. "Naughty boy, listening in on her." He chuckled, offering a light shrug. He heard her when she got out and could hear the rustle of clothes as she slipped them on. He continued to sip on his blood and read the paper. He could hear her fiddling around in the bathroom. He knew she was in danger and he would stand in the way of that. Adele had already spoken to him last night. She wanted Sorcha to stay here. She didn't care if that brought danger with it. She felt this was Erik's chance to do something for someone else and be happy at the same time. She was such a hopeless romantic sometimes. He looked up when he heard her voice asking Adele about food. Adele turned to her with a big smile. "Oh honey, you came to the right place. I've got bacon, eggs, grits, and some biscuits in the oven about ready to come out. Hope you're hungry." She winked and went back to cooking, humming along as she went. Erik finally got up and came into the kitchen, leaning against the door frame. "Look who's awake. Sleep well?" His eyes softened, giving her a knowing look. He'd know she was lying if she said yes. He rolled his neck and stretched his shoulders before offering her a smirk. "Hope you're ready for a long day of hunting. Today, we're getting answers. I know it." |
