His heart was aching. There was no other way to describe the pain he felt. He had tried to make things right with Sterling, to show the man that he was serious about wanting to make their relationship work. He confessed to having sex with Malia while he thought Sterling was dead, hoping that it would be an olive branch. He wanted that to be the start of something new, of a newfound trust and honesty between the two of them. But things had backfired and now he was all alone. Sterling had kicked him out and had left town without a word. Henry didn't know what to think or do. And so, he sought out the only other friend he had: Malia.
He stood in the doorway, looking at the individual who had answered the door and hoping that the other wouldn't cause any trouble. He wasn't here to start a turf war, he just wanted to talk to his friend. They could still be friends, right?
As Malia came down the stairs, Henry allowed his eyes to raise to meet her own. He wished he looked a little more happy to see hear, but he just couldn't muster up the courage to look anything but completely hurt. As she took his hand, he followed her as she led him through the house and towards her bedroom. When she asked if he would rather walk or go upstairs with her, he shrugged. "This is fine." He knew he probably shouldn't go into her bedroom alone, but he didn't have the energy to walk tonight. He just wanted something to take his pain away, something Malia might be able to help him with.
As they entered her room, he closed the door behind them, giving them a little bit of privacy from prying eyes and ears. He moved across the room and sat down on her bed in a heap of male. He sighed heavily as he rested his head in his hands. "Sterling left me...I told him about us and tried to explain that I wanted us to continue our relationship with honesty. He just heard that I slept with you and ordered me out. I came back to get my stuff and he skipped town." He had tried to be a good boyfriend, promising only to love Sterling, but that promise had not been mutual and it hurt. It had been a long time since Henry hurt as bad as he did right now.
