The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The Dark Hunter failed to consider how Alexis might react to the tack necessary for her to ride. He'd thought particularly little upon the bit, much less the concern the young woman would have for the mare herself. Alexis' inquiry caused him to pause briefly, the blue-green of his irises shifted between girl and horse before Alexander informed her that, though it was possible to ride without a bit, and a bridle entirely, Alexis was hardly ready for that when she still had yet to master the most basic of riding concepts. The timidness within the young woman's voice drew Alexander's oceanic gaze back towards her. His brow rose silently, the Dark Hunter certain she didn't realize exactly how many hours she would have to dedicate to the horse before she reached the level of skill she desired. Still....if that was what she wanted, he saw no reason to deny her. "Of course." Alexander answered, his head bobbing ever so slightly in agreement, "If you like this." The Macedonian added with a small weak simper upon his features. Nevertheless, Alexander was quick to reassure her that the bit and bridle didn't hurt the mare, the horse likely ready for the adventure that awaited her beyond the stable doors.
He waited as Alexis climbed up into the saddle, carefully attempting to make herself comfortable. Softly, Alexander offered her a word of approval, her face near beaming in response. Alexander offered her the reins, allowing her some time to acclimate to the height and feel of merely sitting upon the mare while Alexander busied himself with his own chosen stallion. It hardly took him long before Alexander swung up and into the saddle near effortlessly, the Conqueror near belonging on the back of a horse. Easily he coaxed his steed forward and alongside Alexis' own. His instructions were swift and to the point, as Alexander told her to use her legs. The mare he had chosen was thankfully quite responsive, the slightest squeeze from Alexis was enough to prompt her forward and easily, Alexander urged his own steed to follow suit. The pair made their way out of the stables and out into the open countryside. The soft, contemplative utterance from the girl caused his gaze to shift towards her with a slight simper. "It is...but you're doing well." He offered as he led them down towards the lake. "It's not exactly a beach but..." He gestured lightly towards the lake the horses meandered beside, the size of it under the setting sun still somehow romantic even if it lacked quite the same feel as that Alexis had originally desired. "What do you think?"
