East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

for the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey
her speech is smoother than oil
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood
sharp as a two-edged sword
her feet go down to death
her steps follow the path to Sheol

- PROVERBS 5:3-5;;
Her fingers were diligent as she picked the herbs she required, carefully concocting the mixture before her. It was a complicated potion, one she hadn't ever tried before but was confident enough in her abilities to complete it...maybe...after a few batches. She'd spent the last few hours trying to get it perfect, the first one refused to mix properly, the second was a bit too potent, and this one she was determined to get perfect, assuming her line of customer's remained the same as it'd been this evening. The slow nights were always Serafina's favorite, allowing her to dabble in her arts rather then cater to young women and their love potions and men who wanted 'success'. She saw the same kind of faces wander through her doors day after day. The crowd was always the same but the success of their concoctions were what caused them to keep coming back, each life crisis after the next. It was a profitable business, and Serafina was willing to for go the wiccan reeds for the plush townhouse she lived in, not that morality had ever really been her specialty to begin with. With meticulous precision the young girl leaned over her cauldron, carefully adding just the smallest drop of Aster oil when the bell connected to the front door rang.

Serafina did her best to ignore it, she was so close to finishing that she was hardly willing to be interrupted. As it was she was certain she had a few moments before whoever actually found what they were looking for. The sharp voice brought a scowl to the young girl's lips, a frown crossing her features as she put down the wooden spoon she'd been using to mix her latest elixir. The businessmen were by far her least favorite, always expecting such snappy service, like she was supposed to faun over them like they were gods. "I'll be right fucking there." She mumbled to herself, stepping back from her work bench to pivot upon bare feet and head back out towards the dingy little store. It was true that the shoppe was hardly atypical in any regards. It was cozy, their herbs lining shelves in large glass bottles, trinkets and artifacts dangled from obscure places, the lowly lit light certainly contributing to the otherworldly feel of the place. It was the exact kind of place Serafina felt home. Her chic short black dress swayed around her thin figure, it's corset like bodice plunging just enough to show the top of her breasts. She was, in every aspect, dressed to be the quite stereotypical witch from her dark eyeliner to her gothic inspired jewelry. She belonged in a place like this - scowl and all.

She paused the moment he came into her view, her grimace fading into a brief glimpse of surprise as she eyed the male in front of her, curious of just what someone like him was doing in her store. Her eyebrows rose ever so slightly as she moved to stand in front of her counter, "Oh." She stated simply, clearly not expecting the handsome face in front of her. "Er....what did you need?" She inquired, almost unsure of what she was supposed to do now. She shook her head, pushing away her thoughts as she remembered the task at hand. The girl leaned forward nonchalantly, pulling out a notepad from beneath the bar. "I'm assuming your looking for something a bit different? " She continued, her gaze never once leaving his figure as she did her best to return to her usual indifference. "We do specialize in fulfilling your hearts desires." She offered him a coy grin, failing to mention all the strings that were so easily attached to the magic she crafted.
