The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha Cassidy
Samantha offered the man no reaction to the thought that his presence was somehow meaningful to her. That very fact was something she'd contemplated often since he'd dropped her off with his sibling. She didn't really know him; she had no reason to care if he was around or not. And yet. Yet there was something about him that was oddly comforting. She'd learned to attribute it to the way his emotions felt steady, not overwhelming and fluctuating. It was a simple thing, but it made the young empath feel at ease. She thought of opening her mouth to tell him just that, but her power was something she'd kept to herself thus far, and she wasn't sure she trusted the man enough to open up to that secret. Instead of giving it more , she latched on to the conversation regarding her own shampoo. She gave him a small smile. "I'm a faerie," She reminded him. The word felt foreign on her tongue, perhaps one of the first times she'd vocalized the word. But it didn't feel terrible, not in front of him. "I like fruit. It smells good." She offered him a grin as she sat down in front of him. "The smell suits you."
Compared to the man across from her, Samantha hardly touched the pancakes she'd sat in front of herself. Truthfully, the fluttery feeling in her stomach that the presence of the man caused had left her feeling too anxious to touch the food. Still, she'd pushed down a few bites before she'd looked up, contemplating the words that he said to her. "A dark hunter, then," She said, though that hardly helped her at all. She still had no clue why they'd been after her, or even what a dark hunter was. "I suppose that you're not willing to elaborate on that, are you, Aiden?" She asked, leaning back in her chair. It felt weird to use the name she'd been given for the man on the human version of him rather than the feline she'd grown accustomed to. "I figured that the human you would be a tad more talkative, but I suppose not?" She was teasing him, of course, and the smile on her lips was a clear indication of that. She shifted in her chair, leaning back and pulling her knees to her chest. She rested her chin on her knees as she peered at the boy. "Thanks again for saving me from that. Though, I'll be happy if I never have to experience the nightmares you gave me again."
