The oriental vampire awoke with a start, her eyelashes fluttering open over chocolate eyes as she sat up abruptly in the ornate bed. A soft sigh exhaled from her lips as her eyes slowly adjusted to the sheer darkness that surrounded her, her eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly as Chizue pulled her lithe figure from her bed. Cautiously, she made her way towards the window, her fingertips grasping the heavy velvet curtains as she tentatively pulled the drape back. Despite the few years that she had spent as a vampire, the young girl still occasionally found herself having difficulty adjusting to all the changes of her new life. She had learned all to well that sunlight was not her friend anymore, the memory having once been burned into her flesh during her denial stage. A sense of relief flooded her as she was greeted with nothing but moonlight and for a moment Chizue was content to simply stand there at the window, her fingertips upon the window sill as she looked out at the city beyond. For a while the young girl had been searching for a home, leaving the familiarity of the Eastern world the moment her master had become distracted by some other pretty face. It was time, she supposed, to explore the new city she found herself within.
Half an hour later, Chizue stepped out of the ostentatious hotel onto the cobblestone streets. Her chocolate gaze slid up the street and back down, almost unsure of where she should go now. She turned abruptly, heading up the street with an inquisitive glint to her gaze. Her eyes crossed store fronts and restaurants as she wandered, pausing in front of large windows trimmed in gilded gold. Her mouth parted slightly in awe and slowly the girl made her way towards the bar, pausing again over the threshold. Her gaze trailed over the patrons and the establishment, hardly feeling as if she belonged in such an exotic atmosphere. Having never reached the legal drinking age before her death, the oriental girl had never felt the intoxication of alcohol on her tongue or taint her mind. She'd never been within a bar like this, and hesitantly she wandered towards the front of the building, her chocolate gaze roaming the facility. Tentatively, her fingertips reached up to run over her sweetheart lips in habitual display of thought as she studied the world she was surrounded by.
She was hungry â€" she could feel it even though her stomach hardly rumbled in any manner. It was a vague sensation of feeling weak and yet her own unique differences from the rest of her race eternally left the girl eternally tentative to feed. Her own maker had hardly held enough attention within the girl to attempt to teach her to master her own abilities. It was an eternal experimentation for her. One that didn't always end particularly well for the young girl. Either way, Chizue settled in the far corner of the bar, tucking herself inconspicuously in the corner. Her large brown eyes slid over the crowd, simply timidly watching the patrons of the bar as she sat alone.
