Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Samantha Cassidy
In the days since Aiden's death, Samantha's world had seemed to crash down on her over and over again. Every few hours she would let her guard down. She'd let herself doze off to sleep only to wake up to remember that she was responsible for the death of her boyfriend. Now was another one of those times. For one single moment, she'd allowed herself to think a bit of joy when it came to Troy joining her - only to have it crashing down so violently with a few words. The instant those words tumbled from her lips, Samantha felt guilty for telling Troy to shut up. It wasn't his fault, really. He hadn't known any better. After all, Samantha hadn't told Troy about Aiden. Samantha hadn't said anything at all, so how would Troy know that that cat - her panther - was her Aiden. It wasn't Aiden's fault.
This was all Samantha's fault, after all.
The words that ached at her chest with every passing breath seemed to spill out then. The sobs following suit quickly after. God, no. No, not Aiden. Anyone but Aiden. He deserved better. He had been trying to protect her. He had wanted to keep her safe. And she had ruined everything with her own foolishness. She jerked her knees in to her chest, wrapping her arms tightly around her legs as if she could somehow hold herself together when everything threatened to fall apart. God. No. No, this was all her fault. She should fall apart. And she would. She would fall apart because Aiden was gone and it was all her fault.
Samantha's gaze fell upon him as he moved so suddenly to drop to his knees in front of her. What was he apologizing for? This wasn't his fault. None of this was anything that Troy had done. Troy hadn't killed Aiden. Troy wasn't responsible. No, that was all Samantha. "Stop apologizing, Troy. It's fine." Samantha said quietly as she leaned her forehead against her knees. She pushed her hair back sadly. "I'm not mad at you. This isn't your fault." She tugged that blanket even closer as though she would disappear within it. "Troy it's all my fault. He's dead because of me."
