I know some things should just stay broken
i'm well aware this should remain unspoken
His cheek rested heavily against Henry's chest, his body slightly curled into the man as his ex carried him down the dark streets of Sacrosanct in the middle of the night. Fiducia was settled silently within his lap, the bird's golden irises constantly scanning the area ahead of them, looking for any sign of danger even if she would have been unable to do anything in the event it did come. The silence between the two men seemed to linger potently. Sterling was too...tired to think about what all of this meant, he was too tired to filter through the complicated feelings he had or if and how this might change things between them. Instead, he fluttered in and out of consciousness on the trip home. Sluggishly, his eyes opened as Henry stepped into the elevator of his complex, the ride equally as silent as the rest of the trip had been. Tentatively, Sterling dared to glance up at his ex, only to spy that almost determined look carved into the Were's features. His gaze ducked before Henry's eyes could meet his, the boy saved from any sort of conversation as the elevator doors slid open with a soprano melodic ding!
Sterling couldn't help the soft breath of relief that left his lips at the sight of his own apartment door. Henry juggled the warlock and the door with impressive ease, only to step into the comfort of Sterling's flat. The door closed softly behind them with the help of Henry's foot. The Were hardly hesitated, however, as he maneuvered with intimate familiarity down the hallway and into Sterling's bedroom. God, how comfortable the bed looked! Henry's thoughts seemed to follow Sterling's own, his ex approached the bed before, gently laying him on the plush mattress. Sterling hardly anticipated the help removing his shirt and pants - though it was certainly welcomed. His body felt...weaker than he could remember feeling in a long while. Fiducia alone was evidence of that as she drooped upon the perch that Henry had placed her on. Sterling reached for his sheets and yet, Henry seemed to get there first, quickly pulling them up and over his figure. "Thank you." He murmured softly, only to nod in agreement as Henry insisted he rest for several days, at the very least. Sterling was silent for several moments before glancing up at his ex - "Will you...stay?" He asked softly, nodding briefly towards the bed beside him. Ever since New York and his kidnapping, he had always slept better with Henry at his side.
Sterling
I'm on the ledge while you're so
God damn polite and composed
