She could tell the little creature was curious of her, leaning as far over the branch as she could to see her but she was wary, choosing to stay up high where Malia wouldn't get any ideas. She would never try to hunt another Were. It wasn't the same as hunting prey to her. It was more like a human killing another human. It was still wrong on some moral platform unless it was completely necessary. When Malia called her tiny and cute, Abigail's tail started wagging and she lifted her lips in a grin. That only made her that much cuter! When she apologized in case she'd offended her, the panda looked confused and asked why she was sorry. Malia tilted her head. "Well, some might not take kindly to being called tiny and cute. Maybe they wanted to be tiny and deadly, like dynamite or something. I don't know. Maybe I hang out with too many egotistical guys." She shrugged and smiled again. She saw Abigail's gaze go back to the dead rabbit and she shifted her weight, feeling almost ashamed to have killed it now that she was being scrutinized. It's not like she really needed to eat it. Nadya kept the fridge stocked with fresh meat. It was just a nice adrenaline rush every now and then to just be a Were and hunt the old fashioned way. But now she felt like she was being judged for it. She still seemed hesitant about Malia so she took a seat, curling her tail around her flanks. She was trying to make herself look as small and harmless as she could. It seemed she had reassured the panda somewhat on her dietary needs when she shook her head and told her that no, she wouldn't eat her. Abigail grinned again and told her to pinky promise. Malia nodded in agreement. "Pinky promise." She watched then as the panda went down to one of the lower branches and slunk out over it. Well, she was more in reach now but was still above Malia's head. Oh well, she'd take what she could get. When the panda said that she could cook, that was music to Malia's ears. Frost and Nadya always offered to cook for her too but they didn't have any potatoes around to make her favorite dish so far so when the panda offered, she couldn't help but call out cheese fries. The panda instantly looked quizzical and Malia's brows lifted. She couldn't believe there was actually something that she knew about that someone else didn't. She was so used to always being the one in the dark. She grinned. "Cheese fries! They're the most awesome thing ever! I know there's cheese, of course, and these little white stick things that you put salt and pepper on and eat in the cheese and they're soooo good! I don't know exactly what they're made of but they're awesome!" She assured her. Then Malia asked what she liked to do for fun, trying to get to know Abigail a little bit better. If she wanted a new pack mate, she'd have to become her friend first and friends knew things about each other right? The panda had to think about it so Malia sat patiently, well, as patiently as she could. Her ears twitched and her tail thumped the ground but mostly she was patient. She said that she liked to read books and Malia made a chuffing sound. "But you have to sit still for that. You like to sit still? I like the tv more. Things move around and there's fights and things blowing up and stuff. But even then, I get bored." She shrugged. Then Abigail brought up butterflies and asked if she'd ever chased one before. Malia smiled and nodded. "As a pup, I chased them all the time, practicing my pouncing. Not so much anymore though. Have they gotten harder to catch?" She tilted her head, eyes twinkling. |
