Taking another bite of his sandwich, Ashton sighed contently as he raised his beer to his lips and took a sip to wash it down. The sun was still beating hard down on the others out in the water and he had to remind himself that he should probably put some sunscreen on before he went out again.
Something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye, drawing his thoughts away from the application of sunscreen and into a little girl who appeared mesmerized by his surfboard. He took a quite look just around the little girl, looking for who the child belonged to. The last thing he wanted to do was look like he was luring children under his canopy with the promise of food. His question was answered rather quickly when the child's mother shouted from the gathering of beach supplies just next to him.
As the woman began to come towards him and thus effectively waking and upsetting her other child (which looked to be around the same age), he shook his head. "It's no problem, ma'am. I don't mind." He offered the woman a smile as he set down his beer and his sandwich to stand when she finally came to rest under his canopy. It was rude for him to do otherwise. "She's welcome to explore it. I enjoy fostering the love for surfing with others." He reached over to pull the surfboard out of the sand and remove the fins. He set the board flat on the sand so the children could both step on it if they wanted. "If your mother allows it, you're welcome to stand on it." He offered the two little children a smile before turning his gaze onto their mother.
Ashton was relatively knew to the area, still getting used to the people here and their abilities and affinities. He could sense that this family was much like himself, able to turn into creatures on a whim. And yet, he offered no acknowledgement of this fact. Instead, he extended his hand to her. "My name is Ashton...Ashton Doss. It is my pleasure to meet you all. I do hope you are enjoying this mighty fine weather." His voice was soft and soothing, the deep southern drawl clearly evident.
