East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The youthful vampire genuinely tried to see the good in the world and the people that so inhabited it, even if her own transformation should have made her bitter and jaded. She tried to build up those around her - those few who actually bothered to speak to the young woman and so, it was without a secondary thought that she so strove to warp that which her newest companion was so pestered with into a trait that was altogether more hopeful. It was that which saw Chizue to so admit one of her own decided faults, though the Asian girl herself viewed it more as a pleasant difference than anything particularly wrong with her. That inquisitive accented word she was so presented with, however, only saw her head tilt to the side ever so slightly. "Fair dinkum?" Chizue inquired softly, attempting to mimic that accent that so thwarted her. It was a curious tone. No, it was a curious word, one she'd certainly never heard of before. Although the meaning of it escaped her entirely, Chizue could certainly guess the disbelief it was supposed to perhaps convey by context alone. After all, her own fangs were miniscule compared to those of her counterparts, looking hardly much different than the canines of mere mortals. It was as peculiar as she was sure his words were supposed to mean.

His inquiry, however, was hardly astonishing in the least, the line of questioning all too familiar for those rare souls she so carefully chose to tell her little secret to. "I eat...energy, I guess?" She inquired, her eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly in thought as she so struggled to explain it. "Everyone has energy around them and it's all different colors depending on who they are and what they feel. There's a lot of sadness in this town, and anger and bitterness." Her gaze shifted from the man beside her to but briefly glance over the crowd that surrounded her on this rather busy Friday evening, the young woman effortlessly spotting those auras of color that were were but her eyes alone. Her attention however, quickly deviated back to the man at the inquiry if she was certain she was a vampire and for a moment, Chizue found herself seriously contemplating that which she had never before. "Yes, I think the term is 'emotional vampire'. Though I was called an emotional leech once." It was a decidedly derogatory term for what the woman was and yet, she hardly seemed phased by it in the least, reporting it as if it were but a simple fact of life. It was, however the mention of the sun that drew her to an entirely new line of questioning, an entirely puzzled look crossing her features at the mention of Buckleys. "Well, I don't think some sunglasses are going to help me with the sun. It does still...hurt." A small frown crossed her lips as the memory of the last time she had so naively attempted to venture into the great outdoors, the marks that bright light had made had been seared onto her flesh for but months afterwards and even since the girl hadn't tried again.

Still, the prospect of what she was tended to be rather short lived before the female busied herself with the task she should have been doing, putting in their order before returning to his side with a glass of water for the both of them. Chizue could hardly deny the relief she felt in the way he brushed off her admittance for her difficulty with the mixed beverages. Instead, the Asian vampire found herself immediately distracted with the prospect of that card trick she had taken such an interest within. Her chocolate eyes intently watched the face of the card he laid out in front of her and yet, the young girl was entirely unprepared for the way it shifted and contorted before her very eyes, transforming into a different card altogether. A gasp of delight left her lips as she sharply glanced up at the man beside her, the girl clearly pleased with this new trick. "That amazing!" She exclaimed, reaching out towards the new card and softly her fingertips ran over the surface of it. "Can you make anything appear on the card or only other cards?" The girl inquired, her thoughts now entirely focused on this one simple skill. "I bet you could make some amazing origami with them though - can you use any cards?" She was perhaps far more interested in what some might deem a 'useless' skill than necessary and yet, Chizue was a dreamer at heart. Things such as this intrigued her - the creation of something great out of what others would deem ordinary.
