As her hazel eyes roamed the night time crowd one long finger twisted a lock of her blonde hair absentmindedly, the motion and almost rhythmic moving of the world around her sent her into a bit of a daze. Her mind wandered as she stood there, as it so often did, back to the recent past. It left dark figures dancing in her peripherals and sharp words ringing in her ears. So much so that she flinched standing along on the sidewalk, back to the glass through which she had been looking. It was that coupled with the sound of her name that jolted her back to the present, the jump back to reality so sudden and stark from what had been plaguing her that she actually jumped, had she been shifted no doubt her tail would have been a bottle brush but as it was her skin raised to goose flesh as her green-blue eyes took a moment to focus and recognize the figure approaching her.
The surprise she felt was written rather plainly on her face, followed quickly by embarrassment which she quickly sought to hide as she ran her fingers through her long hair once more.
She allowed her gaze to sweep over him just as it had before, perhaps with less brazenness and wonton abandon, but she couldn't help herself to drinking in the sight of him if only to convince herself he was actually here. There was something different about him, though he was dressed as finely as ever she could tell there had been some kind of shift and it made her feel as if they were on entirely different playing fields now. His clothes were as nice as ever of the most expensive make, which was no different than before but perhaps it was her own now almost ramshackle appearance that had her, for once, feeling self-conscious before him. In her own loose-fitting shirt that might once have hugged her curves, a canvas army jacket, and loose jeans with holes that were anything but a fashion statement she found herself fighting the urge to feel like less in comparison. How time had changed them both.
Swiping a lock of hair behind her ear she brought her eyes back up to his face once more as he spoke, a soft roll of her shoulders given in response.
Raising an eyebrow and fighting the urge to feel like outnumbered prey when its cornered she looked back to him, reminding herself that despite being a Vampire she had never been given cause to fear him before.
