East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Even despite Alexander's own recent involvement within the Dark Hunter Cavalry, much less taking the ivory were-steed as his own mount, he had little intention of involving Calliel with the consequences of his job. After all, that Rhino was another were, one similar to the very woman he'd taken down just hours before. The question of whether or not he was capable of seeing to this one's death was hardly considered, the King merely assured that he not only was able but, inevitably, would. He stepped out into the rain, the cold near immediately embraced him all over again as he moved with distinct care around the Rhino, entirely aware of the beast's gaze upon him as the creature pawed the cement beneath him. He heard the ringing of the bell attached to the front door of the Cafe, that high pitched sound was such a sharp contrast to the rain that poured around him that his hunter senses picked up easily on its existence. Calliel clearly hadn't listened, though he was rather thankful for her stubborn nature tonight. She would make this easier, even if she thought her recklessness was her own way of rebelling against him. Children these days.

The sound of hooves on the concrete, however, caused his hand to reach out expectantly, even though his eyes never once left the large grey form of the Rhinoceros. The very touch of his fingers upon Calliel's mane seemed to prompt the creature into a furious rampage. Alexander, however, was hardly concerned, the man easily launched himself onto Calliel's back exactly as he had hundreds of thousands of times before across a numerous amount of equine. The very touch of his body against hers, of his hand on her flesh, granted the Dark Hunter entry into her very thoughts, though they were far more chaotic and boisterous than what he had become accustomed to with Frost. It took effort to push away the excited anxiousness that seemed to fill her at the idea of where she should go, Alexander quick to take the lead as his heels dug into her sides, encouraging her forward. His voice was low and soft as he informed her of his wish to get behind the animal. Her assurance that she too had no interest in dealing with his horn prompted a soft snort from the man's nose and yet, Alexander said nothing of it as Calliel's feet charged forward, straight towards the beast.

His very touch afforded the Dark Hunter an intimate knowledge of her plans, even if he was hardly as certain as she was that this was a good idea. All it took was one wrong step to find them both at the edge of that horn. A soft sigh left his lips as he leaned forward, clearly intending to help with her aerodynamics as she plowed ahead, veering at what he deemed was the absolute last moment. That sound of something shattering as they past caused him to shift, glancing behind him as the Rhino collided with the cafe. Even Calliel seemed surprised at the very sight of that broken glass and damaged chairs and yet, it provoked little more than annoyance from the Dark Hunter. Frankly, he was more concerned for the structure of the building than anything else. That slam of her hoof upon the road seemed to cause the rhino to turn back to look at them, at least, before Calliel's gift took away the beast's eyesight, prompting little more than a thrashing wild animal. Great. Another sigh left his lips before he reached out, that spear quite near materializing in his hand. "Get me as close to his side as you can without getting us killed. Give him back some eyesight Calliel, I want him fuzzy, not blind and if you want to be helpful, take his hearing instead. I'd rather he didn't hear us coming and also didn't destroy every building on the block blindly charging." His instructions were clear and yet, his voice clearly denoted his exhaustion and annoyance at the whole situation. All he wanted was to jump into his shower and curl up in his bed and now...that didn't seem like an option at all.
