East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Gingerly his palm reached out to the chestnut mare, waiting for her snout to gingerly boop against the palm of his hand. She seemed inquisitive of them, her ears entirely attentive as her gaze watched the pair. Alexander's oceanic gaze shifted towards Alexis as the skittish woman slowly shuffled closer, her hand carefully reaching out to brush against the mare's muzzle. He watched as that tension slowly left Alexis' figure, the woman somehow less anxious now that the horse had seemingly accepted her glimpses of affection. For several moments, Alexander simply watched that exchange between the two before he turned, striding purposefully towards the adjoining room to fetch the mare's tact. The Dark Hunter returned a few moments later with a saddle in hand, the bit and bridle danging on his arm. The very presence of it seemed to provoke a reaction from the mare, Alexis herself finally glancing towards him with intrigue as she stepped back to give him room. The Macedonian was nothing if not deft in his actions between his fastening of the saddle to the mare's back to securing the bit within her mouth. He hardly noticed, admittedly, the scowl upon Alexis' features before her voice pulled his oceanic irises upwards.

He glanced briefly towards the mare, only for his eyes to dart back up towards the woman. "She needs that in her mouth so you can control her. They make bridles without them but they don't have any here. She can be ridden without a bridle entirely but you don't have the experience to do that." Alexander led her from the stall and towards the large open hallway if only to allow Alexis room to mount the mare. He could tell, of course, that the bit still bothered her. "I promise, Alexis, it doesn't hurt her and she's used to it by now....come on, I'm sure she's excited to go out instead of staying in here." He offered his girlfriend a gentle smile, the Dark Hunter attempting to push her thoughts away from the bit and towards the experience of riding itself as he instructed her how to get onto the horse. How easily he could see that look of determination upon the girl's features, even as she provided him with a warm smile. He watched in astute silence as she followed his directions, clearly befriending the mare in the process. It was...endearing really, though Alexander said distinctly little on his observations. "Good job." He muttered softly as Alexis settled in the saddle, the man handing her the bridle as she took the moment to get accustomed to the feeling.

He watched as Alexis reached forward, her fingers caressing the mare's nape as she spoke gently to the horse. He watched as her gaze turned again towards him and gingerly he offered her a small smile of reassurance. Alexander hardly lingered long, however, the man...trusting the girl to continue her acclimation to his favored hobby as he fetched tact for his own chosen horse, it received much the same treatment as he saw to the stallion's tact. A few moments later and Alexand guided the champagne steed from his stall, the equine reminding him entirely of one he'd used to own...some long time ago. With grace, the ancient Monarch mounted the horse, urging him forward at a slow walk with the silent shift of his legs. "Press your knees against her sides to get her to move forward, just a little bit." He instructed as he led them both out of the barn and towards the lake that awaited them.
