East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

This is where Hollywood cues the delusion,
that everything looked this blue through Sinatra's eyes.

Her chest rises and falls almost violently, the thin layer of skin that drapes over her bones pulls tight under her neck and across her collar bone, creating momentary crevices that baulk and snap with every breathe. Eleanor is still in a crouched position on the ground, fingers digging firmly into the earth in between her feet. People are passing by, faceless silhouettes of strangers who never bat an eye as to why there is a young girl, breathless and alone, folded over the ground.

She is on edge, but elated about it in some way -- even if only secretly, by the sheer randomness of this interaction. Eleanor is feeling confident about her advance over this stranger, now that she was able to evade him and better position herself on the ground. Her heart flutters over the excitement of it all, temporarily deafening the drowning out sounds of the city. Life in this place was proving to be dreadfully boring, until now.

He laughs and she can't help but to give in and giggle with him. Silently at first, but the bubbling creeps past her ruby red lips eventually, and the high pitch quips elevate to match his stemming from atop the wall. Green eyes watch as his form is revealed. Eleanor wasn't sure what she was expecting. But another fae? "Am I dreaming?" She asks playfully, finally standing, though slowly, and taking several strides away from the wall. She is still nervous of course, and rightfully so, her own kind could be just as dangerous as the others. And this one was clearly looking for trouble. But deep down, wasn't she?
