East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He smiles far to much she has decided, although truthfully she cannot possibly fathom why. Male interest in any regard is a strikingly new subject for the slender young woman as a lock of stray red gold hair if folded delicately behind her ear and she offers the man another tight, polite smile despite the discontent she feels rising within her. He wasn't human, of that she was almost entirely sure, there was a manner about him, an assurance that she often found people with power- or at least some perception of it were given to carry and as such she is willing to believe he may well have some form of legitimate power to back it up. What sort of supernatural he is remains to be seen however, green eyes lifting upward to take the occasional glance, hardly daring to look for to long lest her cheeks flush with heat once more and yet really she had no idea what she was actually searching for, unless he sprouted a tail or fangs or a broomstick- something entirely obvious she never was going to be able to make any hypothesis in that regard. Maybe it didn't matter, surely he'd just take his silly piece of paper and go, his words earning him another momentary grin.

"Well that's...thoughtful of you, thank you."

It was crisp, polite once more, attempting to remain indifferent to him all the same. Pretty or not he was....one of them, something else, something different and she is entirely sure nature did not intend for whatever he might be to exist. Maybe she does occasionally help her compatriots campaign for such things but she is entirely content to remain indifferent to it herself. After all, the supernatural world was not her business and she is entirely determined to stay away from it- as much as possible. Those soft green eyes flicker downward once more at the pamphlets he selects, perhaps searching for some indication as to his supernatural orientation although when he selects two meant for witches, one meant for a vampire and the creatively titled Why It Is Morally Wrong To Neuter Your Pet Were she decides that he is either an avid reader- or for some reason seems to just be grabbing the closet thing. If he was not truly interested, what possible reason could he have for still standing here? The pretty one's, her Mother said, were always the ones up to something. If they campaigned like her? Was that sarcasm? Her brow creases lightly, head snapping back up towards him and the smirky.....smirk he wears.

"Oh ha ha. If you really want my opinion I'm more inclined to argue with that last pamphlet you picked up. I think keeping Were's as pets at all is morally wrong. There- see? I can form an opinion."

For a moment her own smile lingers, a teasing, light look as she shrugs her shoulder in a manner almost playful, a trait it would seem, of both her parents combined- a near inability not to rise to any sort of verbal brawl. Her momentarily chaste smile however is quickly removed, that modicum of perhaps her true personality lost upon his final words, the man presented with a scowl of thought once more.

"Well, I just think it isn't really any of my business to be involved in someone else's. I think if supernatural's wanted human help then, well, they'd ask. They have their own problems and so do we and I don't think it's human concern to be trying to tell the supernatural how to do things. There are some issues I have an opinion on. I think witches shouldn't play with the elements to the extent they do, I think Were's should never be kept as pets and I would personally prefer it if vampires didn't try to, well, eat people I suppose, but I don't have any other solutions or suggestions to fix any of those things and till I do I am content to keep to myself. When I have an answer, I'll campaign for it.

Logic and fact have always been her greatest delights and indeed perhaps this is clear to the man as she offers her concise argument as to the matter, her long winded explanation little more then a speech about why she kept to herself. The momentary comment about her parents bringing another passing smile to her lips, curious as to whether or not he had heard her phone conversation.

"My parents are...a little unconventional, I suppose, but no- they are not violent towards other species- or each other for that matter. They do have a colourful relationship though."

It wasn't exactly the truth, her Mother, she knew for a fact had rather the tendency to be violent towards other people. She was never entirely sure of her Mothers work, yet she knew her Father disapproved in the same way he disapproved of any form of violence...or bathroom tiles. How they had ever worked as a couple she would never know, either way, they simply did.

"and no I have never been bitten by anything- actually, nor have my friends. I'm Isla."

In a sudden and assured show of confidence she moved to extend her hand towards him, reluctant though it may be, determined that he would not view her as some weak little creature hidden behind a cheap fold-out table. She could shake his hand at least, she is sure. It was getting late, hopefully Cassie and Freya would be back soon, she really just wanted to pack up and head home- and she was not lugging this table all by herself back to Anacosta Heights.
