East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I've been lying low for way too long and not only is the business suffering for my solitude. The coven is dwindling as well. I've worked too hard to get this pub up and running and then getting a coven started to bring vampires together in Sacrosanct to watch it all go down the drain. I will pay the consequences for my mistakes and I'll start big, like I always do. Go big or go home, right? And so I've spent the last night writing all the invitations and I put them in all the mailboxes personally, inviting humans and creatures of all ages and kinds to come to Red on the Water tonight for a costume party. I know Halloween is still a month away but there's nothing like a little pre-season bash right? Plus what doesn't go better with a supernatural setting than letting Weres and vampires and faeries come as they want to, which means they can even go without costumes if they want to. Who's to know it's not just a realistic fur pattern or not just really shiny plastic fangs? Humans know how to deny what's right in front of them better than any other species I know.

Maybe it's just an invitation for trouble, especially for the hunters I'm sure will show up. But I've got to try anyway. If vampires show up, it's a good way to advertise that we're here if they seek community. Ellysium needs some bodies to help it stay afloat. I wouldn't say I'm desperate but I need more ranks filled. Isolt is great at getting out there and meeting people, much better than I am, for sure. But I can't rely on her for everything. As it is, I've even managed to slip this one past her without even giving a hint as to what I'm planning. No whisper has left my lips and I made sure to do the invitations after she left for the night. I mailed them right after and she'll even have one in her mailbox to really get her surprised. But I look forward to seeing how she'll react. See? I can be unpredictable.

And now we just wait. I've spent all evening making sure the pub is staffed to full capacity. Everyone is trained in good hosting skills to know to keep the drinks and food coming and the bars are fully stocked. I'm dressed up as a rather handsome zombie if I do say so myself, with blood running down my face and neck and cuts and gashes painted all over my arms and chest. I ripped my tshirt and jeans up so badly it's hard to tell what they even are anymore and my hair is actually mussed up for once, though it still looks fashionable. I wait at the bottom of the staircase, leaning agains the railing with my arms crossed and a characteristic smirk on my bloodied lips as I wait ever so patiently for the first guests to show. The pub is decked out in decorations of pumpkins and lights shaped like bats and everything is lit up like fireworks. Let the party begin.
