He was running out of options and they were getting too close. He needed to find out more information on this New Eden before things got well out of hand. He knew they would be coming after him soon enough. If it wasn't enough that he'd escaped their clutches when they captured him and hooked him up to Vervain in South America, it was probably going to put a damper on their parade that he kept killing their witches and warlocks that they sent into Red on the Water to keep an eye on Isolt. He wasn't too fond of their stalking tendencies so every time he saw one in there watching her, he would follow them and somehow herd them into a dark alley where he could then dispatch of them. It was better to leave no trace of them than let them get back to wherever they were coming from with new information. They seemed to already know where she was so it was only a matter of time before they tried to kidnap her or something and he couldn't stand by and let that happen.
It was bad enough that Elena had showed up and thrown a kink in his plans. He was going to be happy, dammit, and nothing would stand in his way. Isolt was the love of his life, no doubt about it, and though he had his doubts that she really wanted to spend the rest of eternity with a guy like him sometimes, he didn't want to ruin a good thing so he bit his tongue and kept going after her. Maybe some day she would come to her senses and send him packing but until then, he would fight to be with her every day of his existence. Elena had come and gone, it would seem, so that left only one other kink in their nuptials. The coven that thought she might be the one to birth their new Eve. He didn't understand how the minds of witches worked and he didn't want to but in this, he needed somewhere to turn, at least until Yumi could come up with something. He needed to know how witches think this time and there was only one place he could think of where he could find that. The Witchery.
He stood outside the door and sighed, looking up at the sign that beckoned in the curious minded and gifted in magic. He could smell the herbs and other supernatural ingredients from here. It burned his nose, but he had to do it. He had to walk into the gates of hell to protect what he cared about and there was nothing he cared about more than Isolt. He took one more deep breath before he pushed the door open and made his way to the counter. Leaning his elbows across it, he looked around.
"Anyone working tonight? Curious customer with money and questions!"
Maybe that would get their attention.
