Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
It was terrifying - this new world that Abigail found herself within. Where once she was surrounded by a small farming village of Nargarkot, she found herself suffocated by the looming buildings of steel and cobblestone under feet. Where there was once greenery everywhere she could see, now the girl found herself diligently searching for anything that reminded her of the home she'd once taken so naively for granted. Her small tri-colored form felt entirely miniscule compared to the metropolis around her as she stuck to alleyways and darkened crevices then the bustling streets of the darkened city. There were so many people and so many smells and - thankfully, that alone was enough to distract the young girl from the anxiety of how utterly lost she felt from such a drastic shift in her life. Still, she could hardly deny that the further North she meandered, the more she found herself able to simply breathe. Here, the homes were far vaster then anything she'd ever seen in the entirety of her life. The grandeur was unmistakeable, enough, in fact, to make the small panda pause in her steps. Her mouth dropped open, her eyes shining with a bright awe. How magnificent they were! How beautiful! HOW COME SHE DIDN'T LIVE IN ONE?!
The small ebony nose twitched ever so slightly and suddenly, Abigail lifted her small head in the air, tasting that scent upon the autumn zephyr. No. There was no mistaking it - she could smell it! It was all rich and succulent and juicy and delicious and - oh my god, where was it?! She made her way with a determined wiggle in her step to the gates of the large manor home in front of her. She shoved her head through the bars with a squeak. She could fit! She could! Don't think she can't! Just a bit more shoving! Just a big more wiggling here...and there....! Tada! Mission accomplished! The gate was bested! Bahahaha! A delighted squeal left her lips in her quite noteworthy success before she turned her attention with a renewed steadfast to her hunt. Must. Find. That. Smell. She nibbled on those manicured blades of grass as she waddled around the perimeter of the house, entirely ignorant of the simple fact that she certainly didn't belong here. She was equally as unaware as she made her way around the side of the house, that she was hardly alone within the gardens of the home. Then again - Abigail wasn't that perceptive of a girl to begin with. HOWEVER, what she WAS aware of was that it was dark. And the smell was getting closer. But that's okay, because she could fix the darkness!
Slowly, her body began to emit a soft hue of bright cyan. It started from her nose, shining till it was as bright as Rudolph (but she wasn't Rudolph because his nose was red :-p) before that light began at the tip of her swishing tail followed by encompassing her waddling feet. Abigail continued her quest forward, so deadset upon that scent that she wasn't aware of the impending doom of the tree until she quite literally ran...right...into...it. Ouch. A whine left her lips, her head face planting in her paws as she rubbed the forefront of her head. Owwwww! She shook her head from side to side, ridding herself of that pain before Abigail redirected her attention. Yup! Found it! She knew it smelled like apples! Slowly, she placed her front paws on the tree, stretching as farrrrr as she could only to huff at her inability to reach them. Hm. This required some thought...and maybe some hopping...
