Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

It hadn't been so bad at first. Rent had already been paid for two months and he had barely noticed the money leaving his account, but his usual ways of living had taken its toll on his current situation. Being conservative with money wasn't often an issue for Ian, the eldest son in a well off family meant that he had lived a relatively carefree and luxurious life. That was until the fight happened.

Looking back on it now, Ian couldn't quite remember what had actually caused it. Perhaps the harmless pranks pulled at his sister's wedding, or the altered wiring in his brother's car. Maybe even the party he threw the last time his parents went on holiday. Either way, as far as he was concerned, Ian's current punishment was wholly unnecessary. Apparently he was childish, he needed to grow up and the only way that would happen is if he learnt to survive on his own a little more. Get a job, pay some of his own rent.

The steady flow of money had officially dried up that morning, though there was no permanence to the punishment, he was already struggling to cope without his parents' assistance. Yet there he was, lounging across the couch as though he didn't have a care in the world, though in his mind, there was no need to worry â€" his ad had been posted and to Ian that was an accomplishment in itself and very soon he'd have a lodger that would help with his money troubles until Ma and Pa stopped being so selfish.

At this time of day, it wasn't uncommon to find him in this exact spot, he had a tendency to spend the daytime sprawled out on whichever chair or bed that received the most sunlight, sleeping the day away. Currently he soaked up as much warmth as possible, knowing all too well he'd have to relocate soon â€" call it luck, maybe even fate, but he was actually conscious when the rumble of a motorcycle grew to a roar and fell silent in front of his house.

His curiosity piqued, Ian roused himself completely â€" though he remained motionless in his spot of sunlight. Lips quirked into an eager smile when footsteps sounded, followed by a smart rapping at the door. It took all of his willpower to actually leave the comfortable spot he'd made, though he made a point to reward himself with a generous stretching session before making his way to the door.

Dragging his fingers through the already tussled mess of his hair, he swung the door open slightly already studying the newcomer intently through bleary and narrowed eyes, as though he was prepared to be picky about who came in. The girl at the door spun round sharply, and it was enough to make him stiffen at first â€" ready for a hostile encounter, but she smiled and it was clear she was much more uncertain about this than him.

There was something warm about her, not that he knew whether she was friendly, but there seemed to be a degree of heat about her â€" and this already endeared her to him, though the underlying smell of brimstone would be something that would take a bit of getting used to, Ian had already made his mind up about letting her stay. Letting the door finally open fully he took a step back, gesturing into the house. "You wanna come see it?"
