Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Kato Buhari
Kato tried to be as gentle as he could carrying Edie through town. He knew this was a stupid plan and this was only proof of it. The name that she spoke, Nadya, was only known to him from Edie explaining that it was the object of her Alpha's affection. Though what Edie's Alpha was doing going after a rival pack's member Kato felt was a foolish and dangerous endeavor as well. He wouldn't say it, it wasn't his place. He wasn't a part of this pack or the other...Switzerland. However, this seemed to be a topic that had gotten Edie injured and it caused Kato to go tense listening to Edie recall what had happened. "You shouldn't have gone. You shouldn't have followed her. It could have been worse...Damnit Edie." His grip tightened protectively on her slightly. Though he scolded her, when he looked down at her, there was no anger in his eyes...only concern and fear of what could have been.
Once they reached the street of the pack house he had made a decision. "When you're healed, I'm teaching you how to swim...and how to fight." And she wasn't going back into that Ark alone if it was the last thing he did. On some level Kato understood that Edie had been too cocky for her own good and perhaps had needed this pop in her ego, but it didn't mean he had to be happy about seeing the aftermath of it. Kato put Edie down on her own two feet only long enough to get the front door open before scooping her back up. "HELLO?!" He bellowed into the house as he strode into the living room to set Edie down on the couch. He yanked off the blankets folded on the back of the couch and layering them on Edie who, dressed in only his shirt, was pale and tinted blue now from being wet in the cold.
"I'll be right back." Kato left Edie's side to go into the guest bathroom just down the hall. With rough and frustrated movements he opened the cabinets and riffled through all the supplies making a mess spilling everything out onto the floor. He found a basic first aid kit with some anti-septic but not much. After he grabbed some towels he switched to rummaging through the kitchen until he found what he was looking for. This wasn't going to be pleasant.
Kato returned to Edie, crouching down next to the couch as he set his findings onto the floor out of her sight for the moment. "Let me see your side." He helped maneuver her to sit up and gingerly pull his shirt up off her side. The blood had soaked through the shirt and had made its way onto the blanket and couch. It wasn't gushing which was good; it meant no vital organs or arteries had been cut...at least right now. The fear was what may happen once the piece of wood was taken out. "I need to make the hole bigger so I can get the wood out." Slowly he picked up what he had retrieved from the kitchen, a paring knife, and glanced up at her. "Don't move." The last thing he needed was for her to make any sudden movements and slice her more. With that singular warning he braced his spread fingers over her side above the wound and set the tip of the knife against her skin at the bottom of the wound. His movement was sure, slicing an extra three inches which may not have looked like much but he was sure felt like more.
He tossed aside the bloody knife before carefully pulling the large piece of wood from her side which found itself tossed with the knife as well. For a moment it seemed the ordeal may be over but Kato didn't move and instead whispered, "I'm sorry." Before digging his fingers into the open wound! He had to be sure there was no splintering left inside or she wouldn't be able to heal and unfortunately feeling around was the only way. "It would be nice if your pack was around for once." He commented gruffly. Kato hadn't met any of them, being quite adept at meeting Edie around the times that she had the house to herself. He ceased his digging around in her side once he was sure there was nothing left lodged in there. The quicker he finished up, the quicker the pain would stop. Kato grabbed the bottle of antiseptic and doused the liquid onto her side before swiftly staunching the blood flow with the towels he grabbed from the bathroom. Now he could breathe, now his infliction of pain on her was done. Kato's jaw was set, his hands covered in her blood as he held the towels to her. Why did he have to care? It would have been so much easier if he didn't...it wouldn't cause his stomach to churn hearing her cries.
