Some fear fire, but I've become it.
Mira was simply finding some shameless amusement in the way she challenged the salesman, entirely glad to make him work for that commission... that she was sure was coming. She saw that look in her boyfriend's emerald eyes that anyone with eyes could see. He was smitten with that rare Bugatti that she was certain he could envision it amongst his prized fleet. Mira could understand the appeal, even though the steep price tag.... Was enough to send her running. She knew he was privately wealthy and yet she fully didn't understand how much. The salesman quickly scuttled off to obtain the keys from whatever secure location they kept them, leaving the couple alone for a rare moment to speak. She turned to him, a look upon her face that was nothing short of pleased with herself... She was unsurprised by that blunt retort that only made her near grin widen with a casual shrug of her shoulders. "Probably not.. but this way is far more entertaining. Its not every day I get hardball a Bugatti sales rep." Not that this was at all... what was considered hard balling. A car like this, sold itself, eventually. So long as they possessed the funds and were an already known customer. It was like being part of an exclusive club. The salesman was hasty, his responses were too.. as if he too enjoyed the thrill of the chase of a potential client. Just what she was able to coerce him into doing was an entirely other matter. Mira was quickly met with a snort in reply to her more challenging words.. like she could beat him to the driver's seat. How she knew how unlikely it was.. and yet to see his reaction made it all worth it... before the shark returned, keys in tow.
Mira was all but content to continue her antics while her boyfriend had that opportunity to sit inside. Stealing a memento of a rare photo of Tetradore within that car. She waited with eager patience to wait her turn, which finally came. The woman more than content to settle within the driver's seat if while her boyfriend was faced with a far bigger dilemma.. Figuring out how to purchase that car. Mira was more than content to milk that rare moment, to bring that car to life. to hear its thunderous roar. To feel it through her bones. She relished in the sound.. relished in the moment to simply fantasize. If only just for a little while.
Aiden soon joined her in that car and truly she never thought she would see the sight of him in the passenger seat of a Bugatti that... was very much his before he even owned it. He at least seemed willing to entertain her, at least for the moment even though it made it that much harder to want to leave. It would seem the man would have to pry her from that driver's seat if it wasn't for that impending appointment. It quickly became all business. Giving Mira at least some time to peruse the rest of the cars even though none of them seemed as impressive as that... showstopper that her alpha was signing to. Tetradore went through the motions and yet there was no doubt of the near delight that stole its way upon his features.
It was a damn good day. An expensive one..... one she couldn't even imagine the cost, the very thought might never sit with ease in her, never knowing such lavish wealth. Yet, Tetradore knew how to handle his own money, well before she arrived. She allowed the thought to come and go with the exciting thought of seeing the new Ark. Soon, the couple found themselves within the heated Aventador, allowing the heat to soak into her bones. Yet the woman had trouble sitting still. She knew what was coming. Perhaps it was the only thing to overshadow that car purchase. It suddenly became all too real.
That true grin found his way to his lips as he peered at her... that look could melt the most frigid of hearts. He even seemed a little playful as he uttered that inquiry if she was ready to see their new home. It was an answer that she knew.. he already had to know her answer to. "You have no idea.. I can't believe.. that I feel...." She paused momentarily if only to note the odd fluttering within her chest. "Nervous." She admitted, noting that sensation felt odd to the she-wolf. Not that it could ever ruin that good mood the pair shared.
The pair drove and she swore he drove just a little faster than even the alpha's usual high speeds, as if feeling more eager than he even let on. She had no clue where they were going.. or how long it would take to finally catch a glimpse of that new ship upon the shoreline. The dive seemed to drag on forever, even as she tried to fill it with conversation and mild gushing about the car her boyfriend had just purchased. How soon until they were actually able to.. drive in it? She question Tetradore intensely why they couldn't simply drive it now that it was in his name. Yes... there were some details to finalize and yet... the car was practically his.
They drove swiftly through what she easily recognized as the industrial district. A hub of activity from exports and imports.... And worse... tourists. She could just begin to make out the colossal ships, shipping and pleasure cruise ships. There was too much to take in, her eyes totally missing the Ark in its glory! It wasn't until Tetradore pointed it out that she released an uncharacteristic girlish... squeak. Her heart forgot to beat.. and she swore she almost forgot the simple task of breathing. To say it hit her hard was an.. understatement. It was almost too overwhelming. Everything... She had taken it all in stride... until that very moment. "I can't believe.. its there... That's it! It's even.... Bigger than I thought from the pictures...I..." She didn't care that he was driving.. she gripped his nearest arm.. as if she needed to grab something. He seemed far more stable than even that car did in that moment. She leaned forward then, gleaning to get a better look, as her seatbelt strained across her chest as if chiding her to sit back. Once she realized she was.. practically digging her fingers into her boyfriend's arm.. enough to feel the reminder just how damn muscular he was. She loosened her grip... against the steel in which her alpha seemed to be made of. She offered him an all too sheepish look, a smile bloomed brightly across her lips. She pulled her hands to her lap as her hands began to tremble just so... Of all the things she had faced in her life, she never trembled, her held her own hand to try and ease it.
It was all a blur from there... she would hardly be able to recall it when looking back, at least the part when Aiden parked the car.. or them getting out.. Immediately when the cold air finally pressed against her skin, it offered the she-wolf the perfect sobering bite.. although they were almost immediately joined by two sharply dressed males.
'Aiden.' They spoke his name with far too much familiarity. The name that rang off someone else's lips beyond his family had sounded so peculiar to her.. Wrong in a way. At least they didn't call him by some title, like last time. The designer seemed incredibly chummy with the alpha, his focus solely upon Aiden like they were friends. Well, they had spent a lot of time in correspondence, trying to get that precise vision down to perfection.
Mira found herself gawking at the ship.. overwhelmed by a sense of something far too surreal. The urge to wander and become more acquainted with it was strong.. yet... she could not lie but the woman felt... a sense of overwhelm. Golden eyes flicked to and fro, ignoring the designer and Tetradore for a moment. The group of men far too engrossed into conversation to notice her. This place was intimidating. She hardly knew why she felt that. But she could feel the weight of what this ship represented. Home.
A home she had thought she had already possessed and had been ripped away. The she-wolf never quite felt the full weight of losing it for good until this very moment. She was not against change... but she knew it would take time to get lost within the welcoming gleaming new ship... to learn it.. to make new memories. Perhaps that sense of freshness was a good thing. A rare chance to erase all the negativity of what was old and embrace something new.
She had seen the plans, seen the pictures her boyfriend meticulously put together, the woman adding her very input. It was one thing to see something one dimensional and another to actually stand in its presence. She drew in a breath... maybe two as she quietly took it all in, in all its impressive glory. The proud 'A' design on that ship almost claimed it as pack, as theirs.. Perhaps her boyfriend didn't know.. that she would associate the letter with him too.
Lost to the sight of that large ship a sigh bloomed from her lips.. as she heard Aiden speak the words, 'it's perfect'. The alpha so rarely said that word. She shifted, her head pivoting slightly to get a better look at him, at just the right time to catch a glimmer of a grin upon his usually stoic features.
She had never seen him.. this... this.. happy as she did today. She could not deny that swell in her chest. That very moment felt... beautiful to her. The woman could not deny the way she felt herself drawn to him, her hand reached for his own and squeezed gently.
A grin found her own features as her golden eyes met his striking emerald gaze. "Its home." She uttered softly, and yet somehow it still managed to sound profound, at least to her own ears. Home. How such a word had grown to mean something to her. Something akin to relief flashed behind her eyes.. She looked away as if to hide that feeling that seemed far too overwhelming to express. Home.. How she found it in the most unlikely of places.... Lost it and found it again. It was a lot. She swore she felt her eyes sting with the promise of tear that she rapidly blinked it away. That utterance offered to show them around soon jerked her to reality. Especially the excited tone of the man that wanted to show them the impressive creation he had built. He seemed proud, as he should.
Those formalities were soon offered, a welcome distraction to compose herself.
"It's one thing to see it.. in pictures.. and another to see it here." Mira admitted mainly to her boyfriend, straightening her spine as they eyed the plank that led to a new beginning. There was nothing sad about that. The trio began the climb up that plank.. there was something almost fateful about it... not that she believe in fate. But she swore she felt it then when her feet first settled onto that ship.
"Oh.. my.. god." Was all she could say upon first sight, the woman froze barely catching on the introductions and speech that the designer had in store. Needless to say.. after all they showed them... she was not disappointed.
