East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Mi gives a delighted nod when Arlo states he would give her a list. How she loved challenges! Though, a bit of disappointment lingers in her eyes when he mentions he eats out a lot but it is chased away by the change of topic so she doesn't mention it, instead her face darkens on his lax attitude of paying rent. Miyako simply could not afford to be evicted from her new home just because some boy was refusing to pay on time. Still, she swallows the words she wants to chastise him with and instead watches how he rolls his eyes at her. Gaping, she puts her hands on her hips, "Did you just roll your eyes at me?!" she exclaims, eyes widened imperceptibly. She was living with a child it seemed.

Still, her brows furrow at him seriously at his comment that he might not even be late next month. Frowning, "Well, you better not," was the best comeback she could scrounge up. Letting her hands fall to her side, she inspects the room briefly before she finds herself offering Arlo a loan if he ever needed it. The confused look is not missed and Mi huffs at him sassily. Why she ever thought to offer him money was beyond her, perhaps it was simply because she didn't like to see suffer. Another reason why she was becoming a doctor, the Asian woman tended to enjoy being in control of every aspect of her life; hence the organization she so desired.

Still, she is met with a flush as he scoffs at her. Perhaps she shouldn't assume that he would cheat her; she hardly knew him but she still offered money to someone she truly only just met. Again, she bites back a retort that lingers on the tip of her tongue, thankful by the way Arlo moves farther into the pile of boxes reaching for a rather large box, reaching out a hand as if she were going to stop him, "Careful that's heavy-," she cuts herself off, dropping her hand as he simply scoops it up as if it weighed nothing more than a piece of paper. Gaping, she folds her arms across her chest â€" she had to practically drag that box up the stairs!

"Uh, just shove it against that wall over there," she points at the wall between the two bedrooms stuttering over her words; the intended to get a bookshelf while she was out tomorrow. Watching him move the box with such ease, she frowns briefly, wishing he had been awake to haul all her boxes into the apartment earlier. It would have been rather helpful. He must truly be a deep sleeper. When he suddenly questions her decision about furniture, her brows shoot up and she gestures around the room, "This is not- well, this isn't enough. I'd like it to be more... homey if that's okay with you," she cuts herself off form insulting his few belongings he had. Still, she offers to take him with her and she finds herself thoroughly disappointed that he outright denies her. How rude this boy was! He couldn't stay up a couple more hours to go shopping with her?

"Well, okay then," she says a bit stiffly but returns to her own box, tearing open the top and rummaging through the contents as she lays them one by one on the ground next to her. Again, the conversation turns just as she fishes out a blanket, letting her hands trail lovingly over the tattered remains. A gift from her long dead mother. Her face softens all the same as she stares at it before her attention is drawn away from the ragged fabric back to Arlo who is being rather... helpful with his box moving. But, she simply frowns at him when he nearly demands her to make friends with nurses. What a typical boy! Perhaps she would make friends with only male nurses and invite them to his party. Turning back to her blanket, she lies it gently on the ground, as if the movement would disintegrate the fabric in her hands, a smug look lining her features briefly.

"I'm on the fence about parties still," she states simply, neither agreeing or disagreeing to his want of a good time. Perhaps she shouldn't deny Arlo anything he wanted; she only just moved in and she realized she couldn't strut about the apartment as if she owned, however much she wanted to. She simply had to learn to live with a roommate for the first time. Gathering the blanket up into her arms, she moves towards her open bedroom door, pausing as he mentions he has a pet. Whirling on him, her eyes wide with astonishment. "Are you crazy?!" she exclaims, clutching at the tattered remains. "You're- you're joking, right?" she stutters, realizing she had just been about to shred the fabric in her hands. Relaxing her grip, she inspects it quickly before fixing a glare on Arlo.

As he pulls out his phone, she moves closer to him, bending to inspect the pictures. He most definitely was not joking. That animal was definitely a panda. How he managed to find an exotic creature in Sacrosanct was beyond her. As he flips through the photos, her eyes widen as she glances around the apartment quickly, noting everywhere the animal had been. On the counters, on the table, on the couch. Clearing her throat, she straightens, mouth agape once again. "You can't have an exotic animal here! Could you imagine what would happen if they found it! We would be in so much trouble!" she exclaims at Arlo, tucking the blanket under one arm a hand on her hip. Planting her feet firmly on the ground, she fixes him with a stern glare. "You cannot have that animal in here. It's a panda for god's sake, it doesn't belong".
