East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

His smirk only widened as Arlo rolled his eyes at his comment about learning to control the thirst. Sure, he thought it was hard now because while he thought he was trying, every time he gave into that instinct to feed as soon as he felt the urge, he was encouraging his own body to keep doing what it was doing. It was all about discipline. Damon's own brother Stefan was known as a ripper when he drank human blood. He would lose all control, all inhibitions, and just hunt and kill as much as he pleased. He had to take himself off human blood completely and just drink from animals. Over time, he got to where he could drink from blood bags but only seldom and the moment he felt the old hunger pangs come back, he would stop and starve himself if he had to, just to maintain control. Damon had found a new tactic. Instead of starving himself, he just decided when he wanted to give in and when he didn't, easy as pie. If he felt like draining a few humans here and there, fine. He would just make sure to pick up the mess after so no one came looking.

Arlo would just have to learn to do the same, except dustier since vampires tended to turn more toward ash when they were drained. Damon tilted his head when Arlo said he sounded like his maker. He arched a brow. "Then at least your maker wasn't totally useless." He nodded his head again as the waitress filled their glasses, taking good sips from his own as he watched Arlo continue to drink. He seemed a little nervous about it, like Damon was suddenly going to ask him to pay the tab or something so he couldn't help himself. He leaned in a little, nodding toward Arlo. "Hey, you got the tab, right?" He leaned back again, waiting for the full range of emotions to play across Arlo's face before he finally chuckled and shook his head. "I'm just kidding, relax. I got it." When he asked about Sebastian, he saw what seemed to be a flicker of something in Arlo's eyes but he was quick to cover it up before Damon could read more into it. Then he smoothly responded that the guy's name was Phillip. It was almost too smooth to be convincing but Damon knew better than to argue it out with him and besides, it wasn't worth it. So instead he arched a brow and nodded as he took another sip of his drink.

"Ah, okay. My mistake." Of course Arlo was much less convincing when he tried to say he didn't do anything to the club while talking about that "oh so intoxicating blood." Damon merely smirked, his eyes glittering. "Oh yeah? So you didn't just make all the electricity go haywire and the lickers flicker while you were practically drooling all over the thought of that addictive blood? Hm, I know I didn't do it." Then Arlo gave him a more skeptical look over the thought of Damon helping him with control. He leaned in a little and smirked with anticipation. "Just a few little exercises to teach you when to give into your hunger and when to brush it off. You need to keep a more low key appearance if you plan on surviving in Sacrosanct, the home of anything supernatural and in bulk."
