East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It is true that Raven had not been spending much time in her own home. It wasn't necessary the company she despised. Rather she enjoyed Alexis being there. It helped make the house not so empty. Yet she could not help but despise the place. It was not necessary a place she would call home. There were no cherished memories that brought any warm fuzzy feeling inside. Rather it did nothing, but remind her that she did not belong to anyone or anything. The house was simply that, a house. Her Sister pack had given her a daily sum of money and allowed her to stay in one of their pack's estates. Their pack was not allowed to wander into this particular town anymore. They provided her with a roof over her head to make up for all the pain and sufferings her Father and his pack had forced her to go through. It felt a bit dirty. Being paid off to stay away from the last remnants of some sort of connection she would ever obtain from her blood pack. It wasn't easy. Being alone. Always she felt this nagging need to runaway and head for the grounds that simply called to her, the need to be among her own. But she knew if she stepped foot or paw on those tainted grounds she would be killed on sight. So, the itch to be among others remained unscratched. Tobi was slowly filling that void, but Alexis was as well. It was difficult leaving the girl alone at the house, but with the Devil Den close to going down due to Lucian's absence she had to do everything she could to continue keeping the money flowing. As soon as Raven made it to the café she gave Alexis a small grin, but while Alexis asked her questions with concern, the curly haired woman simply laughed.

"Of course I'm okay. I'm way too good at evading from Dark Hunters."

A sly wink was given to Alexis as Raven turned her attention towards the entry way of the café. Puzzled her head would tilt to the side, in her natural canine manner. As Alexis headed for the door, she felt the young woman reach out for her hand, and she gave a soft yelp as the fox-girl dragged her to the door. Stepping inside, and letting her hand go, she would pause in the foyer blue-grey eyes widen slightly with amazement. There was much to take in. Various oddities were littered along the walls, her eyes shifted to the intriguing black and white photos that were framed on the walls. Grinning from ear to ear her focus would change to the people around her. It was quiet. It was peaceful. Everyone seemed enthralled with their books, or their quiet conversation, or their writing or drawings. Indeed this place was not for those that lived for technology. Breathing in that heavenly scent of old books and tea, her head would turn to the side seeing a rather long and tall bookshelf with its own sliding ladder. It was as if she went back in time with the unusual trinkets on the wall, reflecting a time period where Long Johns were the thing to wear. If she could wag her tail she would. Looking back to Alexis she flashed her a grin nodding her head.

"I should say so yes! How do you come across this place?"

Pleased she would start to roam through the room, weaving in and out of the tables ignoring the other patrons now. Reaching a far corner booth, the lights neatly dimmed she would slide through to the softness of the plush booth seats. As a waitress came over to take their order, she would murmur softly to the woman her order and her eyes would shift to Alexis.

"Chai tea, with a spoonful of honey and a dash of cinnamon. And Alexis...what would you like?"

Well, if this was going to be their new place to hang out then that is what they'll do. Besides, they have lots to catch up on.

I'd Rather Feel Pain Then Nothing At All
