Most of the ancient Hunter's life had been spent upon the backs of horses. There was a certain sort of comfort to be found in them. Horses, after all, reminded Alexander of his youth, of a time in which the world had seemingly forgotten in favor of all of it's modern conveniences. He knew Alexis was worried about those far larger creatures, the girl's anxiety near obvious upon her features as she offered him a timid simper. With her soft word of 'okay', Alexander turned his attention towards the bill the waitress brought to him, the amount paid with little glimpse of the final number. Money, after all, had ceased to matter in the slightest to the King nearly a millennium ago, his own wealth far outweighing anything he could ever remotely spend. Rather, Alexander's attention deviated towards the lake as he rose from the table. His mention of the stables, however, seemed to prompt little but a small nod from the woman before Alexis reached out for his hand. The action, admittedly, surprised the Dark Hunter. Alexis was well aware of his affinity, Alexander, in turn, often sparing any to his touch for any extended length of time. Those intimate evenings together was often the most of what he allowed himself to impose upon her - still...she didn't seem...bothered, even as her thoughts began to fill his head. He tried, mentally, to push them aside, to focus simply upon the task at hand as he led her around the lake and towards the stables.
The scent was the first thing to hit him as they approached the building on the opposite side of the lake. The smell of the creatures somehow nostalgic for the Hunter as a small simper began to flutter across his lips. His oceanic gaze turned towards the woman, watching the way in which she seemed to eye the horses with curious intrigue. Choosing which one he presented her to, he knew, would be crucial. A soft sound of consideration left his lips as Alexander astutely eyed each of the equine, noting those small glimpses of behavior that spoke volumes to the King. "Ah, this one. Alexis." He commented, gesturing the young woman towards the chestnut he stood in front of. Gingerly he reached out his hand towards the mare's nose, letting her close the distance to bump up against his palm. "Would you like to touch her?" He inquired, glancing at the young woman before nodding slightly towards the mare. "She won't hurt you. If you'd like, we can ride her together, hm?" It was, perhaps, not an ideal situation. The Dark Hunter was entirely aware of the strain he was suggesting to put upon the mare and yet, for a short, first introduction, he was sure both Alexis and the horse would manage.
