East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

...Fascinating.

The moment she dissipated beneath his smoky form Animal felt a mixture of emotions, some of which he had not felt in a long while yet. Miffed, albeit just slightly, was perhaps one of the first - though others quickly began to take its place. She had done what none had managed to do in a long, long while and he was torn between being worried and impressed.

The little female Fae had surprised him.

Either he had simply been around humans too long or the time periods in which he interacted with other Fae were becoming fewer and fewer. There had been more than one nagging thought in his mind that perhaps his kin were slowly fading into oblivion, though why he was not sure. The Fae were naturally elusive and secretive as far as the supernatural were concerned and perhaps non existent all together in the eyes of the humans. That was how it was supposed to be. But Animal knew better. Most Fae did. Truth was, even though he was rarely apart of it, the Fae thrived as a people - both those of the Courts and those of the Wild. Still, it seemed peculiar that the ties had faded so thin over the years. Perhaps his kin were just smart enough to stay away from the unsanctity of this city. Yes. It was much too... crowded... here. Bad blood ran rampant through the streets like rabid dogs. Most unseemly, of course, for his privileged race. It was no place to hold a Court.

The smoke recoiled like a snake the moment she disappeared, amusement suddenly blooming within him. His sense of pride seemed just as strong in her reaction, that spark of animalistic play surfacing faster than he could realize. Animal would expect no less of her and it seemed that for this moment he was in the presence of another that was more like him than she might ever like to think. That fairy crouched there below the wall? That was no Tinkerbell.

It was her words that finally drew the booming laughter from his vocals and it seemed to echo unnaturally around them before fading into the night air. Animal's form finally solidified on the wall, standing directly where she once did with hands tucked casually into his pockets. He did not assume she'd stick around - and so form for form he'd revealed himself, lips pursing into a thin, knowing smile as his grey eyes sparkled beneath those dark plastic lenses. Yes, he was a 'creep'. But so was she. And the look on his face clearly stated so.

have you no idea that you're in this deep?
I've dreamt about you nearly every night this week
