Sterling was all too aware of the confusion that so often came with the discover that one was not wholly human. He could only imagine how Henry must be feeling at the discovery that not only was he not a simple mortal but he too had been cursed with the transformation of a feline. The warlock himself remained silent as his companion so attempted to work out those words he was saying, Sterling's eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly as as Henry recounted his last few memories. Unfortunately, the man hardly had enough knowledge of the species to say whether or not such lack of recollection on the beast he had turned into was normal and so, he said nothing at all. He simply watched as Henry so recounted those last few moments of his life as the human he had been. Sparkles was certainly not worth Henry's humanity and yet, it was too late now to simply go back. Henry was one of them and they would have to make the necessary accommodations for his newfound condition. A soft sigh left his lips, the warlock's gaze shifting away from the man in his arms ever so slightly. "Last night..." He started, a small frown crossing his features. "Last night your body gave into the animal. It was your first shift Henry. You turned into a panther I guess. It's what will happen every full moon now. We'll have to keep an eye on that now..." His voice had gotten progressively quieter as his words continued, instead overwhelmed wholly by that worry that had so afflicted him.
He hadn't really intended to voice those worries that had so burdened him those last few hours. He'd spent so many sleepless hours simply waiting for the chance that Henry would come home. Such exhaustion had certainly caused those usually steadfast walls that surrounded his emotions and thoughts to so waver, voicing such things he usually wouldn't. His bright blue eyes were slowly drawn back to Henry with that caress upon his cheek, the man's utterance of his name wholly catching his attention. He couldn't stop that frown that so pulled at his features or the way that even uttering that fear that so plagued pained his heart. It was that simple sentence that, for some reason he was sure he would regret later, the warlock bent down towards the man in his arms, his lips so sweetly brushing against Henry's own. He wasn't entirely sure what he had anticipated - rejection, surely, or maybe a simple brush off to never be spoken of again. What he hadn't expected was the way Henry's reached up, pulling his head further down as his lips pressed harder against the man's stealing a second and third of those passionate kisses.
It had started as just a dull ache of familiarity in the back of his mind as his lips so interlocked with those of his roommate. Soon, however, that dull pain turned into a full fledged migraine. Imagines, thoughts, memories, wants, needs, everything flashed so fully upon the forefront of his mind as Henry began to pull away from him. It was as if that simple kiss had so unlocked a door of everything he had been unknowingly trying to forget. New York City. His dead mother. Henry in that park. Kat on her white sofa. His kidnapping. His return home. Those flowers. That...regret. He'd run away from it all that week. He'd betrayed Henry for a woman that left him once again on her binges for another man. He'd hurt the only soul who had ever been so consistently there for him when his whole world had turned upside down. His hand reached up to massage his forehead as he so struggled to put all this new found knowledge in order. He remembered leaving New York, entirely assured that he had ruined everything but whatever had happened to him between getting in his truck to drive outside of the city limits and coming here was still missing for him. It hardly mattered, however, not in the wake of all the things he remembered now.
Sterling's gaze slowly shifted down towards the man in his lap, his azure gaze stared at Henry's features. He took in every facet of the man's face, committing it to memory before he found those words leaving his lips so abruptly without even the slightest consideration for the simple fact that, as far as he was aware, Henry was entirely oblivious for their shared past. "I'm so sorry about Kat. I'm sorry I left I just...I didn't think you'd ever forgive me and she just left me and there was nothing else for me there and..." The words had started to fall from his lips in a decidedly panicked fashion. His worry for Henry, his sleepless night, and that stress from all those memories and all he had done to seemed to compound into something wholly more emotional than he had been prepared to deal with on this evening.
