Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

It had been days in which Edie had been a frantic mess, her body failing to sit still even for a second as she paced over and over again through the house. It was certainly not unusual for Frost to come home remarkably late, but he always came home at the end of the day. He had never just not been back home, not without prior warning. It had been the middle of the night when she'd felt it. It was a pain so intense, so immediately blinding, that she'd jolted straight of Kato's arms to pace around her room. For a moment, she was positive that she had been shot or stabbed or fatally injured in some way. But no, in the few moments after when the clarity returned to her, she was well aware that it was the pack bond that had awoken her. It had taken several long moments of breathing before she'd been able to still her pain, her mind actively searching for where, where was her Alpha? And then, just as suddenly as it had began, it had been torn away from her. She attempted to pull on that pack bond, only to find she came up short.

In the days that followed, she had done nothing but attempt to convince herself and her pack mates that Frost was fine. She was certain that he was fine, even if there was outstanding evidence that he wasn't. But she would have known if he was dead. She would have known, and she was sure that he wasn't even if she couldn't feel that bond between them. She'd been a frantic mess, unable to sit down, unable to do anything but pace and worry herself sick. Claire had cooked to give herself something to do, but Edie had only been able to get a few nibbles down before she would have to resume her pacing and worrying. And then, just as quickly as it had left her, that pack bond had returned, and soon after, Frost had walked through that door. She'd gotten nearly no information from him before he'd gone for bed. But she'd seen him just long enough to get that smell off him, that smell of Nadya. And that had been enough to send her mind into a flurry of worry. Where had he been? What had the other pack done to him? With Nadya's smell all over him, and the tug at the pack bond, it was hard not to imagine that something had happened by Nadya and the Nightshade pack's hand.

The worry had had her starting outside, the need to get fresh air overriding any need to be within the pack house and her duty to her Alpha. She was angry and upset and worried that he had put her through this, and that she had no information as to what had happened to him or why she'd been so suddenly unable to feel that pack bond. It was infuriating. And Frost, as always, had proven to be his secretive self. Normally, that was a trait of his she loved and enjoyed pressing on, but after days of being unable to sleep or sit still from the worry, she currently felt like every nerve on her body was on fire. It was that alone that made her feel so out of control. She could feel the prickles of the shift on her spine, and for a moment she was very tempted to let it take her and run until she was too exhausted to move. But then the scent caught her attention, and if Edie had felt like she was on edge then, it was nothing like what she felt now. It was a familiar scent, one she had just experienced only hours before on her Alpha.

Nadya.

The girl tensed when the bushes moved, Edie turning to face the threat. She was hardly surprised when it was the panther that came into her view, and for a moment Edie was decidedly frozen as she observed the feline, trying to judge if it would attack or merely watch her. Luckily for the distraught, exhausted girl, it seemed to be the later. "Wait here," Edie said very quietly, hardly expecting the panther to stay put. She turned on her heels, going back up the stairs to the pack house. She was inside the door for only a second before she came back out and towards the panther again, tossing a pile of clothes at the panther's feet.

"I want to talk to you," Edie said, her voice tired and lacking any of the usual playfulness that she usually regarded the world with. "But not as animals. Not this time." She let out a breath. "A truce. For an hour. For an hour we're not from rival packs, we're just people who..." She bit her lip, looking at the eyes of the panther. "We're just two people who love Frost." She motioned behind her. "There's a hiking trail that my boyfriend and I go on sometimes. Let's go for a walk."
